IGN preview and multiplayer videos

Recommended Posts

IGN have posted a preview of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and have posted four multiplayer videos of the game in action. They say this about the game:

"Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is more than just a prettified version of Ghost Recon 2 or Summit Strike. It's a next-generation Tom Clancy game in the real sense. The multiplayer options are enormously impressive and put the game back into gamers' hands. Xbox Live fans will have conniption fits when they realize how much stuff is packed in here. The graphics and sound will instantly impress and engage your senses in ways the series has never done before. And the game isn't just about versus multiplayer either; it's got a complete single-player campaign and a full co-op online campaign as well. In short, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is like a loaded next-gen gun, cocked and perfectly primed for Xbox 360 fans to aim and fire."

The videos are great and I like one where he is looking at the rain falling on the ground which is awsome and get`s himself shot.

This game is really great in MP.

This is a quick quote from IGN.

Today, thanks to our rather roguish Rainbow Six and Halo 2 habits, we basically went in like knuckleheads and fought vicious run-and-gun games. Playing that way makes one wish GRAW was more like Rainbow Six: Black Arrow. Problem is, this is only partially designed to play for run-and-gunners. If we had played against any practiced players who spend time as a team, we'd have been shut down right quick.

This comment has verified what people like C.A. at RES have been saying for ages, this game HAS BEEN made for all types of player, in other words you can play this game the way you want to.

Obviously the proof will be in the pudding, but I am sure a lot of you are going to be eating your words to some extent, and I might add that is those words that have brought about change within the franchise.

Just another quote:

GRAW can be played quick and dirty, but for the more dedicated, military type, Red Storm's game is a far greater experience when it's played correctly

This is a good article by IGN.

The videos are great...

It looks like the multiplayer is ready to roll. :D:D:D:D

Will the demo be multiplayer or single player?

Man, I posted this last night and no one cared. Oh well..I think the title made some think it was an older post.

As long as everyone gets to see it... :)

And I agree, it looks great.

How come no info on the PC version?

Everything lately seems to be about the XBox 360 and console stuff......?

IGN had good read.

I really enjoyed the videos though.........looked great!

Come On I want some stuff about the PC.............. :wall:

I have a bet that the demo.........(when it comes out) ...will be BOTH

SP and MP

<_< One thing that did bother me a little was the ability of the red tracking diamond to keep tracking a target after he had ran back behind solid cover. What technology is this based on? Heartbeat sensors?...Thermal imaging? It would seem that if you stepped behind heavy cover (like a metal dumpster or cargo container) that the technology should have difficulty keeping a bead on you.

Based on previous comments, I'm sure this feature (and many others) can be toggled on and off. It just seems like too much of an unfair advantage to know the movements of your enemy when he has ducked under solid cover...

:P  Videos rocked!!!  Definitely worthy of the Ghost Recon name.

Has anyone pinned down how many players will be allowed in MP co-op missions on the X-box (and on the PC?)?  I know the number was supposed to be between 2 and 4...

I think that prince video said up to 16 players in coop, with teh # of enemy AI varying with how many people are playing...

If so, I am soooo freeking sold. The ittty-bitty coop limit is what killed me before..

I have mixed feelings about these vids. It’s like a much improved GR2. It appears to play more like GR2 than GRAW SP. I just cannot fathom why that is, or how a company can think that is acceptable.

UBISOFT, if you're reading: I don't like this recent trend I'm seeing with your AAA franchises... where you create a new SP experience and then slap on a MP component that feels eerily similar to the previous game, but w/ updates.

You guys pulled this BS with SC:CT and it wasn’t cool (even though the MP was still cool... it was basically pandora tomorrow w/ updates). It didn’t feel one damn bit like the awesome SP game.

I’m sure you guys have your reasons, and I don’t pretend to understand the in's and out's of game development’s business side...

But...

I am your BASE. I buy all your games and the majority of my collection is Ubisoft stuff. You guys are a company I've grow to respect and to expect good things from.

That said, I don’t like this recent trend, in fact, it's starting to ###### me off. A lot.

Thanks for reading.

I think it looks good and bad,

Good

The sounds in the game is really sounding sharp. The graphics are still looking very good and the draw distance on the grass at a far im very happy with (Hiding in grass might be ok now when half way acrossed the map). love to see that the Sky is alive and the world around you is lush. The bullets look like they hit hard and kill fast (Plus).

Bad

Im still alittle afraid from what i seen with the cross hairs staying very tight on a full run. Also what about the night vision when all players turn into a 100 amp light bulb or was that thremo? Last thing i noticed was when the guy was in snipe veiw you can see the cross hairs jump to the target as if it has autolock on please tell me this is a turn off option!?

There was afew more, but im not going to over whelm im really liken the game from what i see, but there is just as much good as i see bad and im really hopen that the 1001 options well take care of everything.

uh...thats because whether you like gr2 or summit strike, many did, and the game sold well. ubi doesnt just listen to the people on this boards, i am sure they are trying to make the game broad so that many people will like it and buy it. I am guessing you dont know the basics of any type of business. Here is the long and short of business..............making money. I know its a shocker but there it is. ....hey maybe the pc version will be to your liking.

I agree with you bud. I share the opinion that the SP looks fresh new and exciting, and the MP looks like GR2.5 . I was afraid of this happening when I first learned about the 2 diff engines for the same game. I do appreciate the efforts of the devs, but it's hard not to be disappointed by the identity crisis this game seems to have(Especially since GR2 gameplay was very dissapointing IMO- bullet lag, double joysticking, spraying, and general aracade feel).

I guess It might be time for me to buy a new PC.

That wasn't even English. I can't respond to something that doesn’t make a lick of sense. We're getting off to a bad start.

That is true, but has absolutely nothing to do w/ my post - the one you quoted and are supposedly taking issue with. You are not even remotely on topic here. Most people would call your argument ad hominem, or a strawman... An irrelevant softball accusation you're tossing up in the air, ad hoc, so you can knock it out of the park. If you are going to call me out, please try and keep your thoughts at least somewhat relevant to the topic.

I am guessing you don’t know the basics of any type of business. Here is the long and short of business..............making money. I know its a shocker but there it is.

If you're wondering why my reply to you has been a bit condescending, you should re-read the quote above. This is fun. I type a post. You quote it, ignore what it actually says and go off on some tangent full of mildly inflammatory personal attacks based on unsupported assertions… none having anything to do with the point I was originally trying to make. You seem to have skimmed over that bit. It seems to be a habit.

....hey maybe the pc version will be to your liking.

This is a completely separate issue ( the imaginary dichotomy video game developers have dreamt up separating gamers needs and preferences on the pc and consoles) completely worthy of its own thread. But again… not in any way relevant to this thread (or my post you quoted).

is the friendly blue highlight outline also an option to turn on/off on servers?
