Things the friendlies do that bug you

I tend to agree with the general consensus of opinion here, the friendly AI isn't exactly blindingly intelligent.

However, I do go out with a full team.

When there are multiple objectives in a map, I tend to time my attacks so that they follow each other as quickly as possible.

However, when the teams are out and about, getting into position; I do have to switch to them whenever I hear "enemy spotted".

I see alot of players would like their AI team mates equiped with AT rockets to shoot at tanks on their own. I think I'll try to make a test-kit, making an AT rocket a primary weapon, and then send an operative armed like that against a tank...since Tangos with such kits take out our friendly tanks, maybe friendly AI will act in the same manner... <_<

Anyone tried it yet?

What I don't like about friendly AI--they've never bought me a round at the bar, had me over with the family for dinner or even send a holiday card :hehe: . For sp types, a simple test--make a few of your hero's with leadership of say 30--leave other values as is. Play with that number until you get desired reaction you want from them. It doesn't cure all ills but it makes them much smarter. As my firefights are set for 30/60/90 enemies, I had to up their intelligence or they'd constantly get shot up. Don't put your AI next to walls, buildings etc--they tend to blow themselves up unless you have them on assault or recon. I find AI does much better on longer range engagements, so I put them by a clearing( friendly AI dislike shooting through bushes), then I go play decoy to attract some enemy. This works no matter how low the leadership level is.

Streinger, it can work, but you you need to put them on recon and out of the fray until needed but they won't always shoot at the tank. They tend to burn up rockets on ground soldiers.

Those are the moments that make me keep coming back, Killa. shame they are marred by those 'other' moments the AI have.

Yeah, just recently in m08 of IT, I managed one of my teams just through the command map. Setting waypoints as they went, I had them circle the perimeter of the map. They cleared every sniper tower and eliminated any resistance they came to. It was a great switching to that team and hitting f2 to keep them in comp mode. I watched as they did some of this and was amazed. Whenever enemy fire was heard, they went prone, found cover without getting shot, and took out the baddies in one or two shots. Its almost as fun to manage my team and just watch while the comp does the work [successfully]. Yeah Budgie, it definately keeps me coming back for more.
