space_man_hal 0
Does anybody have any thoughts on an Asylum GeForce4 MX420 64MB PCI graphics card? I saw an ad where it is $30. Does anyone know if this is any good?
snakebite1967 0
honestly unless you dont have an agp slot stay away from pci vid cards , also if your budget is tight go with a gf4 mx 440 the 420 is underpowered and also the pci version wont perform as well as an agp card hope this helps
space_man_hal 0
No, I don't have an agp slot. I'm not really wanting to spend alot. The main reason I want one is to run GTA3. It won't run on my machine and thier tech support said it was because I only have 5mb graphic controller and it needs a minimum of 16 mb. I know gr needs 16mb too, but I can run it and all the expansions just fine, so I'm not completely sure what the problem is.
snakebite1967 0
ok i got ya , basicly the card you mention will run most of the newer games be it at low to medium settings if thats your main option then go for that card, but have a look and see if you can find a 440 pci version one of our forum members is running that exact card and seems happy with it

Stinger 0
I run with a 440 made by Asylum (PCI version) and no game has stopped me, only game that I have that slows down at all is RalliSport on occasion with settings on medium. If you go ebay you can get the GF4 MX series dirt cheap.
