Cpl Ledanek
Anyone who has experience Omega Drivers? Just want to know if they are really better than nVidia's Forceware. I got an old MSI GeForce4 Ti 4200 that I'm trying to maximize, not OC'ing. Anything that I should know before I try it out. I mean what steps do I do before installing these drivers. thanks
Specter
Omega Drivers are DA' BOMB ! ! Dude ! ! You can't go wrong with them. I swear by them, and they are all I have used for years, for either Nvidia, and definitely ATI. They beat the stock ATI drivers all to hell. This guy knows his stuff, believe me. He is highly reputable, and his driver work is awesome. Nothing special to do, just like with any other driver, completely uninstall the old ones first, reboot, then install. Then configure to your heart's content. Enjoy ! ! Omega Drivers always get a resounding thumbs-up from me ! ! GET THEM ! ! GET THEM ! ! GET THEM ! ! GET THEM ! ! GET THEM ! ! GET THEM ! ! Dannik
I haven't used Omega Drivers since my Voodoo3 days, but I know that even back then, they performed significantly faster than the stock driver revisions. Omega is highly regarded by the folks at ATI and Nvidia, unofficially, of course, as taking their stock 'safe' drivers and stripping them down, unlocking features that aren't officially supported, and generally creating drivers designed for raw speed. The stock drivers are build for stability. Omega tosses that out the window and rebuilds the official drivers (as in he doesn't create new drivers, just heavily edits released builds) for pure FPS, and some occasional eye candy boosts. For a regular desktop machine, stick with official drivers. For a primarily gaming rig, the latest build of Omega Drivers should at least get a test drive. Specter
That's true, he edits them for performance. But he is one hell of an editor, and the drivers are rock solid and in alot of cases even moreso than the ones put out by either company. Cpl Ledanek
Damn! that was fast. Ok, I will uninstall nvidia's last Forceware 81.93-something. Restart. Install Omega 66.93 (latests on Omega's site for XPs) Wish me luck anyone knows a good divorce lawyer?
firefly2442
I've used Omega drivers where Doom 3 wasn't working with ATI stock drivers (messed up pixels or something) and it was great. However, I suggested to a friend to use Omega drivers and he seemed to think that the Omega Nvidia drivers were outdated, is this true? Dannik
he seemed to think that the Omega Nvidia drivers were outdated, is this true?← The official Omega site states that Nvidia driver revisions have been on hold since late September, 2005. No word on why, just that development is currently suspended. ATI drivers are still being worked on.

Foxtrot360
Well, you could try ruling out the game as the problem first, if not, someone else might know.. Demos dont have patches either so....
Foxtrot360
Also, if your rig is for gaming , Omega drivers are great. Although its more useful if you have an ATI card since they have crap drivers. Still though
Specter
So one stall while playing Ravenshield Multiplayer Demo. I was tossing some flashbang grenades when the game stalled. ← That demo has been a problem since the day it was released. I'd look more to that demo than your PC.
