Terrain Pack 3

Terrain Pack 3 contains five new desert terrain areas for VBS1. Three of the maps are generic (not based upon any particular location), and two are based upon actual areas in Iraq (As Samawah and Al Anbar). All maps contain brand new models, including many enterable buildings and new vegetation.

Lizardia and Al Anbar are lightly populated terrain areas with a scattering of towns. Lizardia is an island surrounded by water, whilst Al Anbar is a complete 25km x 25km map with a number of rivers.

Arbil 25km and 50km maps are designed for convoy training, with long highways that stretch over great distances. Both have a number of built up areas.

In addition, the town of As Samawah, located in the Al Muthanna province of Iraq, has been replicated in the most complex terrain area ever created in the VBS1 Real Virtuality simulation engine. New model optimization techniques have made the map highly efficient, allowing for the large number of buildings and other objects with minimal effect on frame rate.

A number of Iraqi insurgent and civilian units have also been provided with the pack.

The new environments provided in Terrain Pack 3 are a must-have for all VBS1 users, providing new, realistic terrain areas for a huge range of training and analytical scenarios.

Note: Two additional terrain areas are available (sold separately) - a 50km Al Muthanna terrain area and also the Baghdad Green Zone. Contact BIA for a quotation.
