WhiteKnight77
Actually, I would like to see more Coop aded so real wolfpacks could patrol.
Hatchetforce
Wolfpacks did not patrol together per se. Rather a Uboat would site a convoy and then radio BDU (Uboat High Command under Admiral Doenitz) and then he would order boats patrolling other sectors to race to that location. I had the pleasure to meet Otto Kretschmer - Germany's top Uboat ace - before he died and he patiently answered a great many questions I had. This racing to a convoy and getting 3-4 boats on station for a coordinated attack took days sometimes and may be beyond the scope to do realistically. Trying to get into position is half the thrill of skill. However, the failed attempt with SH2 and Destroyer Command was admirable and possibly a blueprint. Good references are available in the form of Blair's two massive Uboat volumes. Here is Volume 1: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/067964032...=books&v=glance as well as Operation Drumbeat: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/006092088...glance&n=283155 and Werner's Iron Coffins: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/030681160...=books&v=glance At all costs avoid Bucheim's Das Boot. He is despised by the vast majority of the Uboat community for his faulty and false representations of Willenbrock and submariners in general. Also of interest, I have an original 1928 first edition of Raiders of the Deep about Uboats in WWI. Hair raising white knuckle material. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/159114861...glance&n=283155
Deadpreacher
Actually, I would like to see more Coop aded so real wolfpacks could patrol. ← Oh yes, can't forget about more and better coop. Just as long as they keep a editor to make as many as we want and able to play them online im ok, but still i like to have that support for some kind of a Death Match. Yet i might still like something like they did with SH2 and Destroyer Command with the Death Matchs. Well i can dream can't I???

Deadpreacher
Never tried that Dangerous Waters, is it ship control like SH3 or just unit order control system type game or both? Anyways i know this game aint a sim but the one im looking forward to the most right now happens to be that Battlestations: Midway! Don't have a link right now, but it looks to be a great game for controling Subs, Boats & Planes all in the same game online.
Hatchetforce
Dangerous waters is total ship control - if you want it. The learning curve is steep if you go that route is many people find the idea of doing capable TMA (Target Motion Analysis) daunting. It is just as cool but a lot more difficult than Jonesy made it look in Hunt for Red October. You can auto crew the Weapons, TMA, and Sonar if you want and handle everything else or you can handle everything and any or all of those tasks you desire. It is a product of Sonalysts who manufacture Sonar simulators for the US Navy. It has an easy to use but incredibly powerful mission editor - the same one used to build the missions. The playable craft - Akula II, Seawolf, 688I, Kilo, FFG-7 Perry, MH60A, and P3C-Orion are all highly detailed and accurate with only a few exceptions having been changed to manage gameplay. The community backing it is large - go to Neal Steven's site at www.subsim.com to see support for every subsim around. He is a Texas boy and I have known him for years. A great guy, think of him as Rocky's American cousin.

Nailbomb72
Looks like it's not too far away now Release date should be 16 March - I'm looking forward to this, SH3 was great. Far out, there's a couple games worth investigating this March. ArmA, SH4, GR:AW2, STALKER perhaps... Anybody want to pay my bills for me in March so I can get into it?
