Stalker_Zero 0
Yes because its expensive, i dont understand where ya people pull money out of your asses ← LOL! Well actually foxtrot its not gonna be that expensive in comparison to the competition. Thats why this unit is gonna be a hot seller I can guarantee you that. I even went to J&R computer world in manhattan today to take a look at the super expensive apple 30 inch cinema display monitor. Its gorgeous by the way. I'm not buying that one but I wanted to get a feel for using a monitor that big. And ya know what?.......... Its not really that big. I can see myself getting used to its size rather quickly. cobaka 0
Is this for gaming? I can see the warning now: "if you keep playing with that, you'll go blind"
Stalker_Zero 0
Is this for gaming? I can see the warning now: "if you keep playing with that, you'll go blind" ← YESSIR!! I'm preparing for all the noobs me go be hunting when graw comes out. muhhoooahahhaaaaaaa I'm planning on using it for PC applications.....for instance 3d applications (3d modeling for graw) but generally any PC application of course. I'm planning on using it for widescreen gaming , for the occasional DVD, and for sat tv...I use directtv (and I hope to use it for their HD content). I just hope the hdcp and hdmi don't stop me from watching the occasional divx file......shhhhhh.

Take a look at her!!! Engadget news about New DELL 30" LCD MONITOR............. ← Nice find ... But not only do you have to consider how much the monitor itself costs, but what you have to pay for a decent video card(s) (i.e. SLI/Crossfire) to drive 3D at that native res. For my 20" widescreen Dell, I upgraded that rig from a GF FX 5700 to a GF 6800 GT (which I found AGP 6800 GTs are getting more scarce btw) to get decent fps.
Foxtrot360 0
Stalker Zero has a 6800 GT im sure, but im not sure its a SLI , the rest of his pc is good.. (AMD proccessor and such)
Dan 0
the time to buy a 24inch is coming up, because dell are slowly dumping the price to make room for these 30 inch monsters.

I'm gonna have to upgrade my video card for sure. I am planning on getting the nvidia 7800GTX 512mb And yes, it does cost between $600.00-$700.00. The monitor itself is most likely gonna undercut the apple's 30incher which is $2500.00. More than likely the Dell 3007wfp will cost under 2 grand. I am hoping my tax return this year will be enough to at least cover the majority of the costs. Edited December 6, 2005 by Stalker_Zero
Stalker_Zero 0
I'll bet he's gonna do like I would if it was me, and hang it up on the wall. ← With his desk in front of it fun stuff ← LOL! Your not gonna believe what I got planned. Already, I have my 19 inch crt pointing to the right edge of the desk and I have the bed all the way up to the edge of the crt screen. So basically I play games and other pc stuff straight from bed...keyboard/touchpad mouse and all. Only thing is when I lay on my right side to play games I have to prop myself up with my right arm. And that causes shoulder pains. I could lay down flat and play but then i have to turn my head to the right and the view is just too far away. With this new 30 inch lcd my plan is to get a monitor arm that will support its weight and have the monitor float right above me in bed. So now I will be able to lay flat and play for hours on end no neck and shoulder pains. Teh ULTIMATE in teh lazy!!

Stalker_Zero 0
LOL nah man I'm poor like you. But I've worked enough this year so that I think I can swing it if my tax return is big enough. At least I hope.

I can see the headlines now: "Gamer crushed in bed by LCD monitor" Seriously though, you need to likely be 4-5 feet back from a 30 incher to properly take in any gaming full screen. I want to have like peripheral side vision. Heck, frankly I won't be satisfied til we have a device that makes it seem like your IN the game rather than observing through a window. Foxtrot360 0
Seriously though, you need to likely be 4-5 feet back from a 30 incher to properly take in any gaming full screen. I agree. I have a 27' Television in my room, i dont really give a .... about LCDs or Plasma TVs, all i gotta do is hook my video card to my TV and there goes a 27 inch monitor Seriously though, you could get the Plasma TV cheaper than the overpriced-overrated LCD monitor (theyre not bad until you get something over 17 inch) Only a lazy idiot would have it float above his or her bed either... buy an executive style arm chair, i got one and id rather sit in that than anything else, the only thing you gotta worry about is the leathers heat against your back in the summer.
