Rocky 1,224
That's not FC.. is it? Anyway - very cool comparison, you do actually get to see more of the play area, it's not just a stretched display, very nice.
dickie 0
Meh...on my iMac I've been playing GR in widescreen for years now. And that goes for most other games too.

Arms 0
Whats the advantages of playing in widescreen? Things that don't looked squished?? I would play in widescreen if i had the chance. Edited November 8, 2005 by Arms
Dannik 43
That's not FC.. is it?← It appears to be Guild Wars, not Far Cry. As for the advantage, Arms, it's added peripheral vision range.
WhiteKnight77 1
Far Cry is on the list. Click on the drop down menu at the top to see what other games support widescreen playing.
CR6 0
I just received a 20" Dell UltraSharp 2005FPW widescreen LCD (native res 1680x1050 16:10 ratio) to replace my office monitor which was damaged, and it is pretty sweet. The very cool thing is that GR1 supports wide screen resolutions natively as it seems to detect the monitor driver properties. That is very impressive that Red Storm implemented this feature so many years ago before widescreen monitors even showed up on the horizon. I'm disappointed that a new game like BF2 doesn't support widescreen without hacks. Instead it has to stretch out the usual 4:3 screen, and that doesn't imrpove your field of view. Edit: Added a screenshot of the Options menu. See the full size in-game screenshot here: http://ghostrecon.3dretreat.com/images/gr_widescreen.jpg Edited December 1, 2005 by CR6
Stalker_Zero 0
Excuse me but that resolution comparison with farcry....umm.... that doesn't seem like true widescreen does it? I mean if you look closely it looks like the image got zoomed in a little bit. So its like taking the small screen u started out with and chopping off some of the top and the bottom. Am I seeing things?
