WhiteKnight77 1
That there will usually suffice tho you may also want to include any optical drives you may have (CD-ROM, CD-RW, ect.) installed.
Dark Ranger 0
One major item to include is your Operating System, such as Windows 2000 or XP Home or PRO etc. This will assist alot in troubleshooting issues. Other things to include, (yet a bit more technical) are: Your version of DirectX, the core technology used to run games, videos, and multimedia. You can view your DX version by clicking on Start and Run. In the Run Prompt, type dxdiag. Give it about 5 to 10 seconds to process information, then look near the bottom and it will say DX7.0 or 8.1 or the like. Video and sound issues with Ghost Recon often times need information from the DirectX dialog. Sound and Video card Driver versions. These assist as us as well. Remember, the more information you give us about your computer, the more knowledge we have to assist you.
Guest DeLeyt {AlphaSquad}
First of all, when someone asks you what your computer specs are, what do you need to tell them? Some more things to mention: - Type of processor (ie: AMD or Pentium) and also mention the range (ie: P1, P2, P3, P4, AMD XP2600+, AMD Athlon) - If you have the processor overclocked (manually speeding CPU) you mention that aswell. (ie: P4 2.53 Ghz o/c @ 2.9 Ghz) - Mention the FSB (Front Side Bus) speed of your CPU aswell (ie: 400Mhz, 533 Mhz) - If you overclock, it's helpfull also to mention the cooler (brand and type) and the ratio at which you o/c the CPU at (ie: 133Mhz @ Multiplier 8) - Type, brand and speed of the memory is a good one to mention also (ie: 2x 256 DDR DIMM PC2700 Samsung, 1x 512 RIMM Kingston 3.3 ns) - If you know it, also mention the brand, type, operational speed and accesstime of your harddisk. (ie: IBM Maxtor 7200RPM 50ns) - Mention the brand and type of your motherboard (ie: ASUS A7N8X) A lot of people forget this one: - Powersupply (ie: 350W, 400W) The powersupply can be a real speed-stopper when it's underpowered. I had a GF2 GTS once and a 300W powersupply. When I upgraded it to a 400W the GF2-card was 2x/2.5x as fast. If it's getting too technical then just go to each specific component, note the brand and type and visit the webpage of that component to get further details and specs there. what is the program to allow you more frame rate??
