OK, I just installed my new Gigabyte GA-SINXP1394 motherboard and reformatted my hard drive. I have the 3.1 cayalyst drivers, DX9, blah, blah as I did before and all my settings in the ATI control panel are the same as before. The problem now is I get no fps. In NR2003 I get like 7 or 8 when there is other cars on the track and I used to get 30-40. Also when I run 3dmark03, it blue screened during the cpu test. WHat is going on???

Did you see if there are manufacturer updates for the Mobo?

A flash ROM might be available. That will update the BIOS...you might have a conflict with hardware.

Check your Device Manager...see if there are any " ! " near the hardware there will be a conflict.

Make sure you go to windows update. there may be issues and patches for those isues listed on the updatepage.

try those first and see what happens

Ok, haven't used a Gigabite board yet, but you should have received a Driver Installation Rom with AGP drivers, Chipset Drivers, and other goodies. Was that not included?

Also, what OS are you running? Couldn't find your mention of it in any other posts.

Check your "Device Manager" to make sure all of the hardware is recognized. (i.e. USB Root Hubs, HDDs, Other Periphrial Component Interface cards, etc.) As for SmartGart, wouldn't hurt to try it.

One other thing: In your BIOS boot up screen, does it recognize your P4 at the correct speed? Often times, changing out motherboards requires you to increase the frequency multiplier to obtain the correct speed. For instance, I have a 1.8GHz chip, but after the change out of mobos, it read 1350MHz. Had to increase from 100 to 133.

Hope this helps ya.

Again I state:

What is your Operating System?

What DirectX version are you running? (Beta or End-User Runtime)

Did you update your drivers like RooK said?

You MAY have to revert back to DX 8.1 if 9 screws up your system.

LMAO!!! I know that. He mentioned it in his first post. I was wondering if he was using the Beta version or End-User Runtime. The Beta caused alot of issues for some people.

I'd try a defrag too. After installing an OS, games, and the like, it needs defragmenting. Just one more thing to try...

OK, sorry. Using WinXP and DX9 user-runtime and catalyst 3.1, all other newer drivers. I got sick of this and put my Aopen board back in and everything is fine. Something must not have jived with the gigabyte board. Damn....got the gigabyte so I could overclock, guess I'm stuck at 2.4.

Most of us have custom paintjobs.

We race on Sat. @ 5pm central time on WhiteKnights server, we do race some long races sometimes.

Don't worry about being a beginner, we all have to start there. ;) If you get with us soon you won't be a beginner for long, we give hints and sometimes setups.

Me and Believer practice on Tues. and Thur. nights if you want to get in on that?

You might want to get ICQ makes sending messages and car files easier.
