The press release goes out to press members who are, in general, more interested and focused towards the Xbox 360 version, therefore the press release is written and focused around that version, hence why PC isn't mentioned.

quote:

The PC version and console versions are getting in worked on quite closely, although there are obvious differences, therefore the PC version is in a similar state to the console version. It's not a case of one version holding the other back, it's a case of them both being at the same level: not ready for release.

Ty but still sceptic about all this

1. Does it have to do with the PPU cards (AGEIA PhysX)??

*cough*

Yes I agree this is H. S.

What engine will GRAW be using? What version is it?

We are using our propriety engine, Diesel, that is currently at 6.0.

What build are you showing me?

This is a pre-alpha build. We hope to go to alpha in a month and then beta a month later.

How long has GRAW been in development?

We started full production in November of 2004. Before that we did production design and initial technology improvements for about 6 months.

How many people do you have working on GRAW?

We have 35 people at GRIN working on gameplay. There are even more for storyline and special effects at other studios that all are Ubi internal, such as RSE.

Pre Alpha in August.

Alpha in September.

Beta in October

Release in November. :santa:

We know Grin`s game turn around time 18 to 24 months tops.

We have quotes that say this. And its been seen in other games.

Say to us the game is postponed, but dont blame the Developer in Europe they are further along than RSE.

Coming out with comments like they are working on a par with each other, and are at the same level of development is just plain insulting. :nono:

Give me a break.

and in the No 1. slot is Raven Shield

Haha, I was going to mention RVS, but didn't want to start a riot :P

If he hadn't, I would have. You should know me by now.

This leads to more questions that I will ask in the Questions thread in the Console forum.

I think it sucks that the PC version is delayed too.

WHAT SUCKS is this seems as a delay for xbox. we again abing held at bay for the kiddy box. as i was lead to beleave from reading the press release and info here( wrongly or right ) is that the pc was being developed independently of xbox.

if this is the case then how come they are both delyed to thew same month. this sounds more like waiting for the xbox version to be ready before release of PC

What is bothering me about all this is not Ubi's pushing back of GR3...its their obvious disregard where PC Gamers are involved...Ghost Recon came out when? 2001? RavenShield in 03? They have not given the PC community a game of this genre in close to 3 years. Splinter Cell is a fun game...but IMO its not even close to its squad based brethren.

Yet the console arena is given more games virtually every year...GR2...GR2SS....BlackOps.....Lockdown....

and the PC community is given delays and cancellations.

The sad fact is the game has probably been delayed because of marketing reasons.....

no point it needing to build hype and advertise across the world for the PC platform, only 4 months down the line need to do the exact same thing for the XBOX version........

if it was the other way round probably wud have just meant a quiet PC release, but guess in the end it all comes down to money, and they seem to think the XBOX market has more in it :(

Yes, that is a good point, would they delay the Xbox release because the PC game was still in development? No. Nothing can be allowed to trump the marketing glory of the 360. The Xbox games must sell massively to recoup the loss in selling the units, and pc must take a back seat, lest it interfere in the process.

Xbox 360 supposed to be launched in November, right?

So moneywise UBI would have done whatever they can to have the X-Box version ready for launch in November.

When they postpone it till February 2006, thus missing the X-Box launch in November, it's to their credit that they really want to improve the game, instead of launching a "needs to be regularly patched" version.

For the first time since the initial info that GR2 would be released for PC, I'm bound to believe that UBI means this seriously.

However, this does not mean that we, the PC gamers, cannot handle a partly playable, pre-pre-beta PC demo version that's available. So..............: give it to us.
