the.ronin
Angels transcend every religion, every philosophy, every creed. In fact angels have no religion as we know it ... their existence precedes every religious system that has ever existed on earth. Welcome to the first ever Ghost Recon.net Design Contest. Theme: Arch Angels Classification: Signature Style: Static Image Size Maximum: 480 pixels wide by 100 pixels high; 100 kilobytes Last Date of Submission: October 18, 2005, 12.00 am GMT Minimum Point Hurdle: 40 pts Good luck ... you’ll need it. Please note that submissions do not meet forum guidelines regarding signatures and therefore cannot be used in the forum unless they are altered accordingly. All participants are assumed to have read the GDC Guidelines prior to submitting their entries. EDIT Oct 6, 2005 - Evidently, the forum rules have changed regarding sig file sizes to be 100kb. Just in case, ALWAYS check the forum rules before using any entry as a forum sig.
Sup
← Ronin: If I can figure out a way to tie the theme in without drawing skills or the time it'd make to 3d model and render something, I'll join. Elsewise, I'll pass untill next time.

Sounds pretty sweet! Remember that just because the contest calls for a "Static Image," does not mean it has to be done in Photoshop ... the only requirement is that nothing in the image is in motion. It can be done in 3DSMax, MSPaint ... a scanned pencil drawing qualifies. This would, in fact, count for some originality

the.ronin
Ok happy campers, let's get those paint programs paintin' ... we've only got until next Tuesday when GDC numero uno is officially finito ... vamanos pinche soldados!! So far only three entries - two of them qualify. Granted these are both oustanding works of Mona Lisas (dangit, I knew I should've raised that minimum point hurdle!), I know there are other budding one-eared Van Goghs lurking out there in the GR.net ether. Giddy up, Quimosabe!!
Dannik
Normally I wouldn't touch anything even vaguely religious, but then I remembered something from my gaming days of yesteryear, that has nothing to do with the subject of angels, yet is entirely topical. the.ronin
GDC I has officially closed. I salute the handful of good entries all worthy of recognition. Although I venture to guess these budding arteests are merely warming up the creative juices - prepping the battle grounds and reconnoitering the competition for the more challenging GDCs to follow. Check in and check often ... GDC 1 winner to be crowned soon!! And for those of you that did not enter and likely should have (you know who you are) ...
