GameSlave 0
I need to now if you can use headsets for online GR and if they work and if i can hear two people at one time. Because my friend said that it might work if you don't like typing to each other. So I'm kind of clueless right now.
Dannik 43
Teamspeak 2 and Ventrilo are two great applications that allow multiple people to talk, via a normal headset/microphone plugged into your sound card. The one catch, however, is in order to talk to each other, someone must host a server. The good news is, the servers are pretty easy to set up, and you can run it on one of the people in the conversation's game machine, as long as they have a decent broadband connection. For smaller games, most IM programs these days support one to one voice communication, and are usually simple to configure. This way nobody needs to host a server, but it's typically limited to just two people total. Skype is another option, as it's designed specifically for delivering high quality voice over the internet, but it's also a one to one medium only. Another option is to use GR.net's Teamspeak 2 server. We ask that anyone using it at least have a membership here. The IP and password are here.

WhiteKnight77 1
Did you make sure that your mic was turned on in your sound cards control panel?
GameSlave 0
Did you make sure that your mic was turned on in your sound cards control panel? ← yes it was in the contorl panel like I can hear people but they can't hear me.
WhiteKnight77 1
If people can't hear you, your mic must not be on. Open your sound card's contol panel (Audio Properties) and select your mic as a recording source as noted here. You can even access it through Windows Control Panel under the Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices. Go to the Voice tab and select voice recording and select volume and make sure that your mic is listed there and the volume is at least half way up. Once that is done, open up TS and do the loop back test to see if you can hear yourself. If so, others should be able to hear you to.
