I'd buy the GT5 bundle, if and only if it has an 80 GB PS3 with PS2 compatibility. And why should we have to pay 399EUR for just a 40GB PS3? Ha ha, I wasn't implying getting those systems. I was only trying to find some reason for the higher price. Is it some type of European excise on all electronics? It is too bad. I bought a 60GB, dropped in a 320GB drive. Like you, I wanted the backwards compatibility. The good thing it is also forwards compatible. When God of War II came out that played without a hitch only better looking than on a PS2. Now that Persona 3 is enroute I will look at that also. The other thing is by dropping that large drive in the PS3, it enabled it to become what it should be. The media hub for my house. Movies, music, photos, everything is either on the PS3, an external drive hooked into it or it streams from my PC to my PS3 and the big screen. While the release date is surely good news, the weekly Kojima Productions Report podcast delivered a bit of an unsavory tidbit for Japanese-language purists living abroad. Responding to a fan's question of whether or not there would be Japanese audio in the North American and European versions of MGS4, assistant producer Ryan Payton said, "Unfortunately, because of disc space, we don't have the space to include the other languages--the other voice-over files--for the respective versions. So the Japanese version won't have English VO, and the NA and Euro versions won't have Japanese VO." MGS4 is broken into acts, and the gameplay in Act 1 starts out in a dingy, war-torn city that the Colonel calls Ground Zero. Everything is happening in-engine, and as the credits roll, Snake arrives. As MGS fans are well aware, cut scenes can be quite lengthy and users finally have the ability to pause them. Also, much like in previous MGS titles, users can cut away at times to see a different viewpoint of the action, such as zooming in on certain areas or elements. Considering much of the game is answering many old questions, Kojima Productions has instilled a new flashback system, and in moments that old characters or events are described, with a quick press of a button you can flip through a series of pictures to better explain a situation. There is some inside info in the article. Nothing we series veterans will consider spoilers but the uninitiated may think differently. They show MGS1 in it's original form, then they show it remade (TTS on cube) then they show the SS minigame. Finally they show MGS1 running on the MGS4 engine. They show a little gameplay then snake snaps out of it and tells Otacon he was having that dream again. The film then cuts to Kojima who says with a grin, "Did you like it?" I get the distinct feeling that sly ###### has something huge up his sleeve. Could it be that we could get the chance to play all of MGS1 on the MGS4 engine via dream sequences? With the ability to unlock the full version after MGS4 completion? Or only parts. Either way it is a very intriguining possibility. I still have very fond memories playing MGS1 on the PSX with my cousins, then finally completing the whole thing in the Microsoft published PC version (which I actually wrote a review for way back when) I am now kicking myself for not getting the Twin Snakes version for NGC I haven't got a PS3 (yet ... it's looking like a sound investment to me now that Blu-Ray has won the HD war).
