Lethal.Ambition
Lindy Lohan has the oICW GL in Origimiss. I always picked her. She had realyl good stats and her voice in the middle of the mission was always a good change. You almost forget you had a woman in the team. ← maybe its lindy cohen... i think you mixed it with lindsay lohan the cute girl ← You're totally right ReconSniper. My mistake. Anyways, she had one of the best kits in the game. AND she was a specialist
CrowmanUK
The way I look at it is that its a game, if you include a choice of male and female characters you can play whoever you want and everybodys happy. If details like that keep all the gamers happy then its a bonus all round. Mind you did anyone really want a male lara croft?

CrowmanUK
I must admit I've never really taken much notice about whether a game had a male or female lead character, it was always whether the game was any good or not, and if GRAW came out and it was female characters only it wouldnt make a bit of difference as long as the game was good, no doubt it might raise a few eyebrows but that wouldnt be a bad thing would it? the.ronin
i will admit that even if a game had really cool concepts - if it had a female lead character, i was likely not going to buy it. this has happened on a number of occassions. however, if it had female 'co-stars,' if you will, i've always found that to be a nice addition. (although im nowhere near like everybody-jchung-tonight looking to date girls that look like these characters.)

maestro
FPS = me, self, I = important to identify with the character you embody. imo ← ...which is why I don't like the "character switching" thingie in either GR or H&D (Hidden & Dangerous). How can you identify with anyone in the game if what you really are is some kind of "spirit" who can travel in and out of any team member and control him/her? You're not really any in-game character - you're more like a "presence", the "hand of God" who controls the process. Very fuzzy. Imo, you can't request "character switching" for the gameplay and female characters for the immersion - it's a contradiction. Any immersion GRAW's few females players will enjoy from the fact that there is one or two female characters in the Ghost team is counteracted by the fact that you really don't play any of them. I think it's hypocrisy, while requesting female characters and not "character switching" or requesting female characters for any other reason is fine. The thing is, I think the developers of both GR and H&D wanted to make simulators, but technology didn't allow them to create an AI that was clever enough (or the developers themselves weren't clever enough to pull it off), so they "cheated" by letting the player take control over any team member - and tadaaa! Problem solved - but the game wasn't a simulator anymore. Character switching is a simple solution to any problems the AI might have - if it gets stuck running along the path it's been given, the player can come to the rescue - but it's all at the cost of immersion. If you're killed while "being" one team member, you just move on to the next one - it's like having several lives. Yeah I know you're depending on an entire team, so completing any mission becomes harder the fewer "pawns" you have, so it's not in any way comparable to having several lives in, say, "Super Mario Bros", but the concept of character switching still often becomes a lifeline that gets you out of the tight spots - while in reality you would be dead after taking that bullet in your forehead: Your would not be able to just become any other member of your team and continue with the mission. GR has AI dumb as nails, but made up for it with character switching, which I don't really enjoy. GR2 had no character switching (yay!), but still the AI was dumb as nails - which is of course much much worse! Today, AI can be more advanced (technology has caught up with the developers' vision of how GR should be played) so you can actually give orders to your AI teammates and trust them to complete them without running into the enemies line of fire all the time, or get stuck in a corner. In my eyes, GR can finally be the game it was supposed to be. It can finally be a true simulator, where you play the role of one single member of a Ghost team, where you give orders to other individuals (not other "pawns" who you can control directly anyway), and where you are really dead when you die. It's not the "keep-cpt-Mitchell-alive-at-all-costs" gameplay that many refer to with disgust - it's "you-are-cpt-Mitchell-and-you-have-to-stay-alive". That's immersion, and I like it. Ok, this post became more of an explanation of my personal view on "character switching", rather than my view on female characters, but oh well. SteelHack
As I never played GR2 in SP.....and I really only play GR in Multi CoOp.....All I can add to this is that I play as me..and when I am dead....I am dead....Often if a team mate dies early in a level...we will just all commit suicide, and start over....but sometimes when it feels a buddy is going all "RUN and GUN" and gets himself killed....well then its time to punish him...and make him watch for 20 minutes.....So that he realizes...its better to peak around a corner...than to run with guns blazing. As for the women issue...I agree...their should be female chrs. I know when my buddy and I first played GR...he would take the chics just so we had two different voices reporting in....made it a little easier to tell who was doing what. Now...I went in and modded all my LAN buddies faces into the game. We all have a distinct uni...and look.... I pray we can mod GR3 chrs. I would hate to have to go back to looking at a few generic player bodies....versus seeing my actual friends running up the street. Ranger Six
Well I wouldn't mind seeing women in GR3 in all of the game modes, except for the SP campaign that is. It would interfere a little bit with the realisme of the game. Women just aren't deployed by (nearly?) any army on the front lines for some very good reasons ( Most women are Physically more limited in serval area's then most men. ( Yeah , I know the US has developed a special training program for most women to be able to achieve the same physical strength for all task as most men have, but : 1) The program would cost the army even more money. 2) Only a very small percentage actually succeeded in completing the training. 3) I hardly doubt that anyone ( man or women ) would like having to sacrifice almost all of their free time to train, as it is required to do so if they want to keep the same level of physical fitness. But even training cannot work away several other factors ( E.g. Women's genitalia area is more 'vunerable' to infections then men's genitalia ( which is also one of the reasons why in most armies women are required to shower at least every 2 days while men are required to shower at least 1 time a week )) which makes most women deployable on the battlefield for a shorter time then most men. ) (Note that I do not declare the words that I'm saying here holy. I'm only basing myself on medical and non medical reports from various armies ( US army, Israeli Army, Swedish Army) and will change my oppinion if other believable evidence can be shown.)) But would I die or start crying if they are in the single player campaign? Hell no. It's just that it would add "a little bit" more realisme to the SP campaign. X69RZX
I've always thought it was cool when I found out a person I was playing with was a female. Especially if they are pwnin me. However, in GR MP, I don't believe you got the choice for any female chars and so, you could never tell unless they had like a girly name. I think it's only fair to include the choice to have female chars, especially in SP. I mean, if a guy doesn't feel the female chars are capable of completing the mission, he can leave them in the loadout screen, lol. Hopefully, the modding aspect will open some doors as well. That is if they don't high side on us on the modding aspects.
