Crimson 0
Today I received my second 17" LCD monitor and now I'm messing aroung with two screens. I must say, this kicks ######. However, are there any programs that anyone knows about that will force a game to be played on both monitors? The games I have installed are SC:CT, BF2, N2003, Madden 06 and San Andreas. I can somewhat get BF2 to be played on both screens but it's a little flakey. If the above wont work, how about this... on the first monitor I'll have whatever running (game, movie etc etc) and on the other I was thinking a web browser and my buddy list for AIM and what not. How can I do this? Damn this is so cool.
element11 0
Im pretty sure i heard about someone in this forum saying that they had one monitor with 3ds max, and the oter with photoshop. Thats the coolest
SnowFella 8
@Element: That's pretty common among 3D artists. Just got a 19" TFT screen here and once I can afford it I'll be getting myself another 17" one.
firefly2442 0
I know you can watch a movie and be surfing the net at the same time. My room-mate does that a lot.
Dan 0
i use three 17inch LCDs at work most of time, but they are on 3 different PCs, so it lacks that coolness factor.
magnumkp 0
Once you have dual monitors it is difficult to stop. I usually run a browser/photoshop/whatever my main focus is on the larger of the monitors, then winamp/msn/tv on the other. It's great. So it only took 17 years for Windows to actually mean windows. Snake@War 0
I saw a pic on the board a while ago of like 15 monitors that were being used for a flight sim and there was a program featured in that thread that let you use multiple monitors for gaming.
Crimson 0
But the MS FS games support dual monitors... I want to force it.
Dannik 43
Multi-monitor support depends on your video card and drivers. Other than Matrox multi-head cards, unless your drivers have specific support for the title in question, or there is a third-party 'wrapper', DirectX/OpenGL titles won't work on more than one monitor. Also, if you use two monitors at say, 1024x768 each, the game must support 2048x768 at a refresh rate compatible with your displays. Some games allow custom display modes, but most are hard coded. They have kind of disappeared after the computer debacle where they could not produce the PC that they said they could.
