T_1
"Protection Violation : USB Key not found or contains not valid data" Didn't add or take anything away, VBS just decided that the USB Key isn't there (The diagnostic tools say other wise) Uninstalled everything (Except XP) and re installed it ... still no go. Any ideas. (I've posted this at VBS Resources too.)
Zebb
Reinstall your marx drivers mate, thats all that should have been needed, i dont know why a reinstall didnt solve it ?..

warhawk
Did you try the updated marx drivers? Keep in mind that if you do that you may, may mind you, experience a problem where VBS will just crash on you. But give it a go anyways. Have you added any new hardware lately? New driver updates? Any other changes at all? (No matter how insignificant you might think) Stout Hearts |RE|Warhawk
T_1
Nothing added nothing taken away. Gonna strip everything right back (I swore I'd never do this AGAIN) and re install VBS.

Shinraiden says so in the official VBS forums. Maybe if you have downloaded the drivers from somewhere else, is why it doesnt work for you. You never know
T_1
*Sigh* I removed, and I mean the indivdual files, the Marx brothers driver files. Uninstalled VBS1 Removed All traces of \Bohemia Interactive\VBS1 from my HD Re installed VBS1 and the 1.3 Marx brother drivers ........ "Protection Violation ......" What was begining to infuriate me, now has me quietly resigned to VBS not running. Honestly I am at a loss as what to do next. I'm sad but it looks like my VBS'ing has come to an abrupt halt. Gordo_Viper
T- Heya Mate. Question? What version of Windows XP are you running? SP2? Or did you update to the 64 Bit System? Had a mate that upgraded his PC to 64 Bit Windows and the Marx Drivers wouldn't work at all. Had to reinstall windows... BTW Can u test the isntall on another PC at all? Doubt it is the USB key but u never know.
T_1
SP2. Which was the version that it was running a couple of days ago. A couple of days ago -1 it wouldn't run. I know, everyone is thinking, he must have changed something, added or taken away, but no. One night it worked. The next it didn't Don't have another PC to test the dongle on. Gordo_Viper
I saw from the pst at VBS Forums u can't reisntall Windows XP at all. Two Areas to test. 1) The USB key when insrted should have a red light operating (if not it's the USB key) 2) I'd check through diagbostics if the USB ports are still active or indeed trying the USB key on different USB slots. NightCrawler
Mine does this once in awhile, and I have to unplug it and plug it back in and it works. If you've already tried that, disregard this post.
