Crimson 0
Is it me or did ATi just take the lead in the whole GPU race from nVidia? Ever since the release of the 9700, nVidia has been playing catch-up. nVidia will finally release the FX, but everyone is talking about the 9800 now. My next card may be an ATi. RooK 0
I believe the FX is released, but Ati is releasing the 9800 this month anyway. Nvidia gained the lead won by Ati with the 9700 for less than a month.
Crimson 0
My point exactly. It took nVidia a few months to pass ATi, where as ATi will pass nVidia in perhaps a matter of weeks.
snakebite1967 0
First thing to remember is that nvidia never touted this as the fastest card that was pure speculation and rumour, secondly they are using a new process to make these cards and a whole new range of fx cards are going to be available soon . i think its too early to say who the king is yes ATI has some great cards now, i may even buy a 9700 pro myself if they drop the price as rumoured, i think this will be a great year for gamers but only time will tell
TRC 0
I never buy first generation anything--whether cars, computers or graphics cards. I'll wait until they get bugs worked out and the gaming industry catches up to the capabilities of the cards. I will admit though, also being an nvidia fan, that ati's pro series looks very nice thus far. I too may go for a 9700 pro if prices drops enough after 9800 is released.
