World Record for Spam?

Recommended Posts

Could this be a world record?

I got the webhost at agr-s.com to check the disk usage, as 650Mb was being reported, but I knew that I had only used a fraction of that.

It turns out 550MB of that was spam emails sitting in an account I stopped collecting email from a long time ago.

That's 550MB of email spam! Assume a typical spam email is 50Kb, and that equates to - 11,264 emails.

I had to shift through 8000 emails to find the real ones. That was a fun morning I can tell you.

I think you got a lot more that 11,000, most spam is 10-20k (unless mine is super compressed spam?)

Had to completely disable an account once that got 4000 spam emails in 3 days, which as the woman was on dial up it could have took her a while. Teach her for signing up for Joke of the Day emails though...

Yeh, there was so much mail stored on the server I couldn't log in to delete it, I had to put a support ticket in.

You are right too, depending on the size, there could have been double the number of emails in there!
