Alright this has been going on for awhile now but it's really starting to bug me. What happens is that once I'm offline the "Connect To" screen pops up. Closing it just opens up 2-4 more of the screens and after you close them it just starts coming up randomly. It almost always does this when I'm playing a game or opening up My Computer. Also, since I'm on 56k with only one phoneline when I get a call I'm disconnected and the screen pops up asking me to connect, it's even started to redial after being disconnected by an incoming call thus cutting off the call. :o

And another thing that's really annoying is that when I'm using IE in multiple windows it'll just switch to another window after it's done loading, making me lose my place while reading or missing a part of a video <_< .

So, does anybody know how I can eliminate these annoying problems?

Try going into your network connections and see if your modem is listed. There might be some settings there that you can change to make it stop trying to connect. Also, in IE, goto the connections area and make sure it's not trying to connect when a program asks for an internet connection. I would stop using IE and use Firefox. Tabbed browsing is pretty cool. HTH :)

Okay there was a setting that I found that let me choose between three options.

A)Never dial a connection

B)Dial whenever a network connection is not present (this was selected)

C)Always dial my defualt connection

I just set it to never dial a connection and made sure I could still dial a connection lol so I'll post back here if this stops it or not.

And about Firefox two of my friends use it so I'll just ask them about that and I'll probably make the switch. :D

cdnsniper ... i will check my settings when i get home ... also dont ever use that dooshbag msn dialer ... make your own network connection manually. and, yes, you gots to make the switch to firefox. ie blows. if you have a fire wall like zone alarm, it should tell you whatever is trying to connect through the internet.
