snakebite1967 0
dont have it enabled, it would seem your problems are sound related turn off eax and i believe force software and try again failing that open dxdiag and turn donw sound acceleration a tad and retry it your vid card is more than powerfull enough to run this game on max settings
WNxSkell 0
ghost recon got best fps results are in urban maps maps with lots of trees in like caves , river , wildernis ... lower ur frame rate with about 25% to 30% Edited March 8, 2003 by WNxSkell
WhiteKnight77 1
I would have to say you are using on-board sound from the looks of things. Grab a SB Live! 5.1 card at the least and install that to help free up your CPU.
Dark Ranger 0
Hmmm....that's really odd. I find it hard to believe that your sound device places that much strain on the system. So WK77's recommendation of purchasing a PCI soundcard is prudent. But here are a few things you should try to increase Frame Rate and playability: 1: In the Ghost Recon game, press your Enter key on the "10-key" portion of your keyboard. It will open up a prompt console on the upper portion of the window. Type: "togglemovetrees" (with out the " "). This will stop the swaying of trees in the game which will substantially increase FPS. Then hit Esc to close the console. 2: Place all Shadows to Low or None in your GR options menu. This will help with FPS also, as your vid card will not have to draw excessive polygons. 3: Close all open applications on your desktop before launching GR. 4: If possible, obtain the latest drivers for your 9700 and your sound device. 5: Do a Disk Defragmentation, then reboot your computer. Hope this helps ya.
