Hey. I have been having a big problem with some of my reticules on my weapons. Most of them are fine but one weapon has no reticule at all. Just a blank screen. I set it to reticule_ar.rsb like all the other weapons and this is the only one that dosent appear. Also with my sniper rifle, i set it to reticule_sr.rsb and one has rets and another dosent. When i tried to fix the one, they now both dont have rets. im using the rets in the ghst recon\data\shell\art folder. anyone know whats wrong??

you gotta set the Source Alpha of the reticule; pratically, open your reticule file with photoshop, then select the area that u wanna use as reticule (to make it easy, draw the retucule you wanna use with another color, then with the magic tool set TOLERANCE to 1 and click on your reticule: it will select all the parts of that color easily!), then go to SELECT and then SAVE SELECTION; now save the selection with the name of "Alpha 1"

Save your file, u will have the option "ALPHA CHANNELS" selected; thats right!

Save it anduse the option of coloru u best like (A1R5B5G5, or the others...)

Now the reticule should work!

To make urself understanding how does it runs, open the original reticules, then go to SELECT, LOAD SECTION and click on Alpha 1

Now u will see the section line, but all the background will be of the same colour. Go to IMAGE, ADJUSTMENT, HUE-SATURATION and change the color so u can see how is that reticule

damn i read ur mex quickly and dindt get the problem...######....well, maybe the problem is in the .gun file

the correct RSB RETICULE

<ReticuleTextureName>reticle_sr.rsb</ReticuleTextureName>

maybe there is a slash or anything...often the error is this:

<ReticuleTextureName/>reticle_sr.rsb</ReticuleTextureName>

with a slash more at the end of the 1st part: with that slash, the application will ignore all the other parts...

check also the reticule Base Left / Right ecc...

Yeah i know what you eman about the slash. It goes like this <ReticuleTextureName>reticle_ar.rsb</ReticuleTextureName>

I really dont know. I also tried one i made, and that didnt work either. I do know how to properly make alpha channels and all that, it just wont show up on the screen in the game. I have a few retucal and pip settings the same on a couple and the others work and this one dosent. I have no clue whats happeneing and its ###### me off, because i already released my mod, and now this happens and theres no reason why it shouldnt work :wall:

Note spelling, reticule instead of reticle could give you errors you are describing. Make sure the rsb name in shell/art file matches name in gun file. One small typo can end up giving you a square on screen instead of a ret.

maybe im wrong, very probably...but if u used copy e past

RETICLE instead of RETICULE

i don't think so anyway...

well, really don't know...if u see a square, it may means that something is wrong with the Aplha Channels...but it seems strange...what set are u using?

A1R5G5B5 or A8R8G8B8 ?

also this...well, i dont think is the problem, but lets try...

No actually, its strange. The tag is reticule and the rsb is reticle. Anyways. i did not see a square, i know the alpha channel is right, cuz rse made it. (wouldnt surprise me if they did do the alpha wrong ;))
