RedHerring
If the first mission is any example, man IT is gonna be hard for me. It took me really long to finish the first mission. I don't like this lol.
Kamakazi
It isnt hard it is a different style of gameplay hard at first but it gets easier you just have to learn teamwork as in different fireteams if you played DS then it is big time different so just be patiecnt.... this is from a guy who still hasnt beaten the last two levels I might add
RedHerring
The original missions and DS are in no way as challenging as this. I think red storm is just getting more creative, in a challenging way. i.e. Random enemy placement, liberal use of suppressive weapons and grenades, etc.
Xian Saint
If you ever feel you're stuck and need a little assistance...check out this link: http://www.ghostrecon.net/html/recon.htm Walk-Thrus for all levels can be found there.
magnumkp
Once you get through IT, go back and play GR and DS. It will be harder, you have been warned.
the.ronin
i hated the first several missions of island thunder. i thought it was harder but not in a good way -- just frustrating. stick in there cos once you get to missions like polling station, your jaw drops. plus the array of weapons you get in i/t makes u never wanna go back. i loves me russian 9mm. RedHerring
I'm looking forward to the M4 SOCOM (or is it SOPMOD?) I was sorta ###### when it didn't come standard with the rifleman. Dammit. Watch it be like the last specialist you get so you can only use him on 1 mission. And Thanks, Xian, I didn't even know GR.net had walkthrus. the.ronin
yup the socom rocks. silent head shots. STANDARD aside from maybe the m98 sniper rifle, all the cool new weapons are in i/t and not d/s (imho). you get another pistol too the 9mm SA (along with the russian). mad stopping power. try to stay away from the walk thrus until you gone through all the missions. Xian Saint
try to stay away from the walk thrus until you gone through all the missions. I agree...they can reveal too much about the game...I'm just saying...use them if you get stuck and are frustrated and about to throw the game thru the window... Some times just a "heads up" can help enough to get you pointed in the right direction.
The_Slink
I'm looking forward to the M4 SOCOM (or is it SOPMOD?) I was sorta ###### when it didn't come standard with the rifleman. Move the kits out of Ramirez's kit folder into the standard rifleman folder. It should be SOPMOD (Special Operation Peculiar Modification or something like that) but RSE in their lack of wisdom called it the SOCOM (Special Operations Command or something like that) ingame. OT: why doesn't the size change? Am I doing something wrong here? Edited March 8, 2003 by The_Slink
Sart
The code is [sI"ZE=-1] [/sI"ZE] Without the "s You had as the last part weeeeeeeeee!
RedHerring
That's cheating! lol j/k I have more mods than I can shake a stick at so i'm good for weapons.
Killa_N_Manila
Keep trying, and if ya need help I'll be happy to assist you just like everyone else here!
RedHerring
It's not like it's so hard that I can't get through it without cheating (for example, Rogue Spear and many arcade FPS) it's just more challenging than any official GR mission I've played. I finished the second one, it was pretty easy. SAWs work good in CQB And I got the SOPMOD
Camouflage
Well, in fact it is too hard. The difficulty is adjusted correctly when one is able to play carefully the map trough when playing the map first time. Thats what happens in real life, you wont know where is the next enemy lurking at and theres no quickloading or saving. With this kind of frustrating difficulty what it is now, gaming becomes more like "learning the places" and hence its easy to complete each mission.. "no big deal, I just quickload.." ..Whats the catch in that? I would like to see how those guys, who claim GR is easy, would survive in completely unknown map what they see first time. Even it would be possible to survive little bit longer, I have had several ocassions when my teammates have been shot in front of my eyes even they clearly see the tango shooting at them -> AI needs fixing. RedHerring
I was just on the 4th mission. NO ONE TOLD ME DEMO CHARGES EXPLODE! I had to quick load like 8 times to get my guys to safety (Ramirez was wounded and I wasn't about to lose him for something as trivial as that) In M02 of the original campaign, the demo charges on the plane didn't explode. If I really tried, I bet I could do a mission in GR without losing anyone the first time. It would just take a REALLY long time and lots of SD weapons.
