Twiller 0
Hello everybody! Since yesterday I can't find any downloads in the downloads section! What happened? Did I miss anything?
Dan 0
there's always talk of reorganising the downloads section, maybe some work is being done now. If you know the name of the mod, go to www.fileplanet.com and search
Kurtz 4
What's the official word?
ZJJ 74
The official word is that Rocky will need to check into it. He is not available at the moment. I've noticed that the boards have been having thier own spurts of being online then off. So I think the host needs to be contacted.
Twiller 0
there's always talk of reorganising the downloads section, maybe some work is being done now. What was wrong with it? If you know the name of the mod, go to www.fileplanet.com and search How should I know the names of all these mods? Can anyone outhere promise me that they will come back some day? Avey 0
What was wrong with it? ← It is missing loads of new mods and has some dead links. What was wrong with it? How should I know the names of all these mods? ← Look through the mod topics/news posts and follow the links from there. Can anyone outhere promise me that they will come back some day? ← I imagine they will someday.
TRC 0
Posted by akira over at @war--he's extremely upset and I can't blame him given the time he's put in: Bout 2 days ago, a real dumb piece of moronic ........ clicked on the DELETE button on our entire Fileplanet archive. Which is a real ###### disaster since this archive contains a ton of mods and tens of cool military videos. I'm ######in ###### beyond any expletive can possibly convey - caused the archive was 5 years of work . So I'm gonna lump Gamespy in the same category as Al Qeada terrorists - ...................... Forgive my language but Ima just roasting bout this one. Its gonna be too much work to try and revive the old archives. At least, its gonna gimme a chance to totally revamp the site for the new tactical games I plan to cover. Still not sure if we are gonna continue to host videos - will be largely dependant on whether we can find a reliable server host. If there's any web host out there willing to host all our stuff in particular videos, send me an email. All Edgefile links should still work.

Rocky 1,224
so that means everybody who submitted something has to do so again? jeez this sucks ← Not nesc. Obviously I have a pretty huge archive here on my HD, getting it all uploaded to webspace is a rather daunting thought though.
U|\|_N0_Nam3_01 0
well, thats kind of a relief
Snake@War 0
I told Akira, I'm an admin over there, that we should check into http://filefront.com/ They have AMAZING download speeds and TONS of free servers.

Obviously I have a pretty huge archive here on my HD, getting it all uploaded to webspace is a rather daunting thought though. ← I happen to have 5GB+ of those mods Rocky, from when I was on staff here and backed them up before FP pulled that little stunt with the DB's, remember? So if you need them, let me know.
Cpl Ledanek 247
I never got to organize them but if need be, I believe I have 5-7 DVD copies of mods.
Militiaman 0
If anyone wants me to contribute any Ghost Recon modifications just let me know. I probably have atleast 25 different ones. I may be able to help piece this mess back together. I know I have the modifications that I have worked on and contributed to the Ghost Recon community still. (I also have my most favorite mod "Mission HX" by =FC= Harntrox.) Just send me a personal message if anyone wants me to help. Edited July 9, 2005 by Militiaman

TRC 0
Looks like FP has gotten so big and/or full of themselves that they feel no apology is necessary, no request for cd's from them so their staff, who caused this mess, can make it right. Absolutely no mention by them at their site of their very big "oops". Guess it's time to cancel my pay account there.
firefly2442 0
Man, that's too bad. But Rocky still has the HTML website page with all the names right? It would take awhile but at least the names are all there so they can be resubmitted. Or maybe gr.net could try to create some system where people can submit files and try for some P2P or Bittorrent like system so that they aren't all centralized in one place. Does FP have backups or did they delete them to "save space"?
