AckAck
Does anyone have any tips on this? Or can anyone point me to a walkthrough(tried searching on the net but the only walkthroughs available are upto mission 8). I keep on losing the tank in this mission - can't get ahead because there's too much lead flying around, tried going the back way through the square but that doesn't cut it. Any advice is much appreciated.
Jex
Is this the one with 3 tanks going throught the streets? I could never save the 1st one and so after about the 10th try just let it get shot and guarded the other 2. Take your best soldiers in 1 squad and then you have to do a lot of running. Make sure 1 has AT. Go the routes the tanks take and watch for AT enemy in the rubble. Unfortunately I think these are some of the worst mission on GR (tank sitting). All the other missions require stealth and tactics and then suddenly you have to run fast, not giving you any opportunity to use the command map to move your other teams because you've got to get ahead of the tanks to protect them. On Elite it tests your patients to the max. IRL tanks would not advance down enemy occupied streets until they had been cleared out. They should have given you stop/go control over the tanks as I'm sure we're better placed to say if it's good to move down a street. Iain Stewart
Have a sniper stick with the tanks the whole way. Make sure you turn corners before they do. At some point, you should get to a position where you can see a large building - the front should be completely blown away. Pull out your sniper rifle and blow away anyone standing there. I wrote a walkthrough for this mission when I worked for GRMatch ages ago. Have a look here. There are walkthroughs for all the other missions as well. Plus (in case your not bord stiff already) I've been tasked by Rocky to create walkthroughs for M05 - M15. That might take a while, however as they are fairly indepth and I need to play the missions again to work out new walkthroughs.
AckAck
Yup that's the mission - I'm about to give up and let the first tank go too....it's too fast and you have no time to clear the streets - if you try and do it before the tanks you lose half your team anyways. The best way is to have one guy keep behind the first tank, as soon as it comes to the end of the street where it turns left and gets blown to bits, try and get your guy on the opposite side of the street, that way he's sheilded from the enemy tanks, but maybe in a position to get the soldier with the launcher (it's a shoulder launched missile that kills the first tank). I haven't tried it but it's the only thing I can think of - gonna give it a shot . Still open to suggestions or tips though.

AckAck
Jex - I got it....it's what Iain suggested. I was done with the mission in about 13 minutes!! Take a sniper guy and a support guy and stay with the first tank. As the tank comes to the "T" section, move to the right flank of the tank to stay under cover, the tank will slowly start turning left into the street. When it is at its nearest point of the other side of the road (this means that it is in the middle of doing its left turn and reaches an apex with the building in front of you) make a dash across and hide in a the little enclave. You can be the sniper or the support guy, and start picking off every soldier you see (I prefer the support guy since it's quicker - doesn't have to reload). Your target is a lone soldier (he's got the AT) standing at about 11 o'clock at the end of the street, the enemy tanks are at about 1 o'clock - you can pick off the guy from within the safety of the little enclave well protected from the enemy tank fire. Then it's pretty quick - stay within the vicinity of the first tank and move ahead before it takes any corners, and pick of any enemy soldiers you see (there are a couple of more guys with ATs). I completed the mission without having to use the remaining four guys on the other teams
tommy_gun
Don't laugh Vets - but here is what I do (I've done all levels w/ similar): Each team needs one dem w/136s. Let the tank clear the ct yard. A team goes to alley and can see the square from behind- Hold. B team follows tank. Kill the 2 on the corners and before the tank turns left go to the inside. Your tank gives you cover. Kill the AT sniper when he tops the hill. Clear out the others and switch to A. Send B forward w/ the tank. From the alley take out the tanks and the bad guys (you may want to use both alleys). A better player could probably move w/ the tanks and finish but I: Assign A to the tanks and move forward. Take B through the alley to reach the Cathedral. Take out the AT sniper in the square (50m left of entrance) . Take everyone else out w/ both teams and your tank which usually enter as I kill the AT.
