=US=PUNiSHER 0
I'm new to map making and I just built the beggining of my 1st map however after I export the map out of 3DS Max v3.0 and try to open it up with IGOR, IGOR ends up crashing everytime. I'm not sure if the problem has to do with the way I created the map in 3DS or not. I've posted a link here to a zip file which contains my simple map in .max format along with the maps textures and roomlist.txt. (www.eisenhowerart.com/ghostvillage.zip) Can anyone take a look at this max file please and export it and try to get IGOR to import it, anyones help would be greatly appreciated, my e-mail is elektra428@hotmail.com. The Worm 0
I'll take a peek at the Max file if I can but, for future reference, what you can do is open Notepad (or Wordpad) go to File>Open, then select All files, and open up a file in your GhostRecon folder named Ike.log Sometimes, the last few lines will tell you why you crashed. You can copy and paste those last few lines here if you have trouble figguring it out. X69RZX 0
most likely you have something wrong with the minimum requirements for a map, as stated in the PDF. By that I mean, your shermanlevelheight, you scenecenter, your room naming, or your room list. Check those things first. After them, the actual room geometry isn't so much a problem. Make sure the shermanlevelheight and scenecenter aren't attatched to your room(s), also make sure your room list is current and correct. Be sure you have tagged the shermanlevelheight with the proper level tag in the map editor as well. Check these things first, because if they are wrong, nothing else will function correctly. Zeko 33
To run a map, u only need a scenecenter, nothing else. It's enough for start. U learn other esential stuff later when u get more skill for GR map making.
The Worm 0
Well, I got it to run in-game... What you did: Group the floor with itself and name it _1. Then group the _1 with the rest of the map and call it _1 again. What you should do... select the floor and all other geometry in the map (*not* including trees, doors, and other dynamic objects), and group and name the group _1. Only one time. Only time you group the floor with itself and name it _X eg _1 is when the room has only one object...the floor. Oh, and for the floor, tag it as level 1.00000 in the Planning Level window on the left, and not the Level Height window on the right. Just press the Add button. Level Height is for the ShermanLevelHeight Edited July 5, 2005 by The Worm
