element11 0 Posted July 2, 2005 Share Posted July 2, 2005 Hey guys, i have made a new chr. rifleman, and i have put it in the game fine, and it is my regular rifleman in single player. I know all about renaming the ica_us_rifleman.chr to all of the different names to put them in the different platoons in multiplayer, and as the default chrs for ds and it. I have made several copies of my chr and named them to the names in ruin's thread, misc skin tutorials. I guess my questions are as follows -Do i need to make atr files for each chr for all the platoons for DS and IT? This seems like ALOT of work! If so, how many atrs would i need to make per chr? -Also, do i even need to set all the chr's names to the ones in ruin's mini tute?? XE_Joker 0 Posted July 2, 2005 Share Posted July 2, 2005 if this is for multiplayer, you can name them whatever you want and you only have to make 1 for each class. like for singleplayer campaigns you need the ica_us_rifleman and the ica_us_rifleman_a and the ica_us_rifleman_b. well multiplayer all you need is 1 and name it whatever you want. like you want your blue squad guys to be: Rifleman: e_rb Demo: e_db Support: e_sub Sniper: e_snb just be sure in the atr file for the mp_plt1_asl and the others that the LOD's are set accordingly such as the following for the mp_plt1_asl (rifleman): <ModelName>e_rb.chr</ModelName> <LOD2>e_rb.chr</LOD2> <LOD3>e_rb.chr</LOD3> <DesertLOD1>e_rb.chr</DesertLOD1> <DesertLOD2>e_rb.chr</DesertLOD2> <DesertLOD3>e_rb.chr</DesertLOD3> <JungleLOD1>e_rb.chr</JungleLOD1> <JungleLOD2>e_rb.chr</JungleLOD2> <JungleLOD3>e_rb.chr</JungleLOD3> that is just an example of using 1 chr for all 3 environments. i normally make chrs for all 3 environments, but that is just me. unless of course it is a universal camo like the cyprus lizard camo i did. it's good for jungle and desert. anyway, same goes for the head LODs. also, if you want to name your multiplayer soldier types; do this: in the mp_plt(#)_(type) file go to <ActorName>@MP_atr_rif</ActorName> and change the @MP_atr_rif with whatever you want to name him/her. <ActorName>Blue Rifleman</ActorName>. So, ingame and on the soldier screen instead of it saying A Rifleman, it will say Blue Rifleman. (# is whatever platoon number you are editing for, 1 = blue - 2 = red - 3 = green - 4 = yellow) and (type is whatever soldier type are editing for, asl = rifleman, the others are self explanatory) example: mp_plt1_asl = blue rifleman.
