EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE

NEED HELP...BOUGHT A NEW EXTERNAL HARDRIVE TODAY..CANT GET IT TO WORK...ITS SHOWING UP ON THE COMPUTERS TASK BAR THAT ITS THERE TO SAFELY REMOVE BUT ITS NOT SHOWING UP AS A DRIVE IN MY PC...ON TOP OF THAT THE MANUAL IS IN SPANISH AND I CANT UNDERSTAND..ON HOLIDAYS AT THE MOMENT AND IM USING A LAPTOP ALSO IN SPANISH A HEADWREAK

Have you gone to disk manangement to format drive?

where is disk management....dont think it will show up on that

Windows xp.

1.Control Panel

2.Administative tools.

3. Computer Managment

4. Left Colum. Disk Managment

When you open Disk Managment you should see your disk.

Then you can format etc. If you wish/

I would first read the help section on the help panel top right of main window.

In some cases it should be Control Panel/performance and maintenance/administrative tool then steps above posted by Colin.
