Paintshop kit .rsb help?

Recommended Posts

Just starting to mod the .rsb files. I can open most (such as gun) skins just fine, but I want to add / edit the kit pics, and they open in Paint Shop (not photoshop which I do not have), but have a checkerboard appearance.

I have looked at layers, but if it is multiple layers I cannot figure out how to change them.

When I attempt to edit this checkerboard image it will not save properly... more details on this if I can at least how to view the non checkerboard image.

Please help,

Mike

The kit pics use an alpha channel (transparency) that PSP can't save. I suspect that is why it has the checkerboard pattern. You would need someone with Photoshop to do those for you. Sorry.

As cobaka said, PSP7 don't use alpha channels. However, I'm not sure about PSP8, I think PSP8 can use alpha channels. I'll have to try it and see (I'm on PSP8 now, moved on from PSP7). And just for future reference, I have PhotoShop 7 too (when I'm designing a sig or menu screens etc for my mods, I use both PSP8 and PhotoShop 7. I have a tendancy to use PSP8 for my image editing though and PhotoShop 7 for all my text editing)

Photoshop 8 CS gave me the same problems...but the plugin works perfectly on the Photoshop 7.

I just have another issue: when u make a weapon icon with the alpha channel, how do you save it? I mean: in which format?

I see that my files are 10kb minimun, but the standard i see for every mod ( included the original ones ) its about 9kb...

indeed my icons arent visible in game... :wall:

Can someone help me? :santa:
