Earl 0
Bit of a rant that I've been sitting on for a while, but anybody else think this forum is divided into a few too many sections? #1 - First example: Off Topic > PC Games > Bohemia Interactive Studio(s) > Virtual Battlespace 1 VBS1 - Game Room 32 VBS1 - General Discussion 44 VBS1 - Expansion packs 10 VBS1 - Tech Support 13 VBS1 - Mission discussion 26 VBS1 - General Mod Topics 5 VBS1 - Modding: Mission Scripting 9 VBS1 - Modding: Weapons 10 VBS1 - Modding: Units/Characters 12 VBS1 - Modding: Vehicles 11 VBS1 - Modding: Maps/Structures 9 The number after the title is the number of threads in the subform... can I suggest: VBS1 - General Discussion (have one "game on" thread if it's really needed) VBS1 - Tech Support VBS1 - Mission Scripting VBS1 - Modding #2 - Second Example Ghost Recon.net Forums > Ghost Recon.net the Website > Ghost Recon.net: Discuss, suggest or complain about anything on this website. Discussion Forums: Suggestions, support or otherwise, anything about these forums. See anything funny about those two forums and the descriptions? At least it was clear to me where the complaints should go!!! #3. Last complaint. Now there are these subforums in PC Games: Bohemia Interactive Studios: -VBS1 -XBOX -ArmA -Sequal to OFP Operation Flashpoint: -lots and lots of empty flashpoint subforums -Codemasters [OFP: DR] OFP is a BIS product so it doesn't make sense separate these, and there is only one public statement about "[OFP: DR]" by Codemasters and no substance so it doesn't make much sense to have a subforum for it yet! Same with the BIS "as yet unnamed but the real sequel to OFP", these can still easily occupy one thread each in the General Discussion of OFP... The reason it bothers me is because I often don't have much time, so I just drop by quickly. A maze of subforums usually keeps me from browsing around and seeing what people are up to, and it must be a waste of time for everyone else too.

ZJJ 74
#2 - Second Example Ghost Recon.net Forums > Ghost Recon.net the Website > Ghost Recon.net: Discuss, suggest or complain about anything on this website. Discussion Forums: Suggestions, support or otherwise, anything about these forums. The key difference here is what the topic is about.
Earl 0
Well. True. I missed that part. It's probably been a long time since I visited any part of the website besides the forum so it didn't occur to me I don't mean to sound all negative, I really like GR.net and the community here, just wanted put out the suggestion. Rocky 1,224
As zjj has pointed out. #2 should be pretty clear, and I like having the two areas seperated as all the Forum problems/solutions can be easily and quickly found/browsed that way. #1 and #3 were set up by another Admin (who is MIA right now) so I don't really want to change anything until he comes back. The GR modding forums are split into catagories and I'm sure you'd agree that it would be a right old mess of posts if their was only one modding forum. I'm sure the idea behind the VBS forums was along the same lines, perhaps there isn't the frequency of posting to make it worthwhile though. I imagine it's still nice to have modding topics all neatly seperated though...? It goes without saying we'd hate to think the structure is making it a chore to browse the forums though, so we will look into this.
NightCrawler 137
I must be the minority, it doesn't bother me.
