element11 0 Posted June 9, 2005 Share Posted June 9, 2005 Hey guys, I have exported 2 successful custom chr files, and they come up as my regular rifleman and my regular sniper. Im pretty proud of myself! Anyways...I have made several, about 5 different heads to interchange onto the same chr, so i dont have 5 of the same guy, but 5 different guys, in the same uniform, if you know what i mean. How would i change the head texture on the chr's? I havve already tried making several atr files, with different head textures, and saving it to /mymod/actor/rifleman/rifleman-01.atr, and the othres the same, but with 02 and 03. However, in game, the heads are the same as i exported in 3ds. I followed ruin's tutorial on this site. Help is much appreciated Thanks Quote Link to post Share on other sites
SnowFella 8 Posted June 9, 2005 Share Posted June 9, 2005 There's a little quirk in the way the head textures work within GR. For the engine to use the texures assigned in the .atr file you need to be using the default Head.rsb as you export the character. Using anything else won't work when it comes to assigning headtextures in the .atr file, even the blink texture won't be used. Snow Quote Link to post Share on other sites

SnowFella 8 Posted June 10, 2005 Share Posted June 10, 2005 Best way would be to use the default Head.rsb that came with the game on all characters when you texture them in 3dsm. Then set the character to use a different headtexture in the .atr file, you can name this texture however you want. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

element11 0 Posted June 11, 2005 Author Share Posted June 11, 2005 Heya, im having another small problem with the changing of heads on the same chr. I have exported the scene with the default head, and fixed that all up. Everything is fine, exept that the atr's i made, the same uniform is on all the soldiers, but all the camo faces are being used on the rifleman(the only one ive fixed so far) except for one.Only one guy has a balclava on. I have made 11 atr files, and 11 different faces. I placed the new rsb faces in /mymod/textures/allied/ and renamed each face skin to chr_wht_cmo_01.rsb (or something like that, the same as in the origmiss folder anyways). I made each face skin its own atr, and added these to /mymod/actor/rifleman/rifleman-01.atr. I think imight have not named something right, and it now mixes the origmiss and swat faces together. Also, on my sniper guy the same thing happened. One had a camo face and one had a regular face, that i gave him. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
