Kurtz
What I would like to know and what I did not get from the video is how you control your squad. Can you give orders to each man? Is that part of the reason for the outline? Can you give the same order to 2 men at once? Can you order a man to go to a certain position on the map and hold there? Can you order your squad to use AT? What does offensive and defensive mean in detail? If this is going to be a squad based game, then the way you control your squad is the guts of the game. I would like to be able to move operators around in recon mode until I was satisfied with their positioning, order 1 unit to suppress, order another to fire and attack from yet another angle. I would like to be able to put a sniper in a high viewpoint, like a roof top, then order him to attack on command. I'd like to use a man to recon enemy location and strength, so I could plan and execute a good crossfire. You need precise squad control for this kind of tactic. Kurtz
The question is: what if you could? Is this the kind of thing that you would like to be able to do in GR 3? For this to work, you would need a good waypoint system, good pathfinding, proper ROE, and good AI. I found that in GR, you could not have the AI conduct aggressive assaults, they exposed themselves to fire too much. But, the ROE allowed you to move them around the map in recon mode and place them in proper locations. I had very good results with using the assault at all cost and recon together to get them to hold in place without firing in prone and then give the suppress command when I chose to engage. Kurtz
What is the point of your posts? Are you deliberately trying to start a flame war?
Dan
no,im just pointing out that people are slagging off GR3 left right and centre when it looks to be a good game. Give it a chance.

Would like to know more about it also. So far they have only shown offensive and defensive modes. Unless something else was shown but Hawk didn't mention it. Cpl Ledanek
The animations and movements are amazing I gotta admit. Then again, I really thought bunnies lay easter eggs. The HUD and the incoming video message, too much Mechwarrior stuff for this old fart. Thats just me. If the military is heading this way, then why not. I think the newer generations will like this. Keeping my fingers crossed.
