I'm not sure any of the music will make it in since I don't have permission from any of the rights holders to use it. I like the way the Frostbite Team did their music credits and now have a similar listing here in this thread from my earlier post, but I'm unsure if they wrote and asked permission for the use, somewhere in these forums is a statement that more than 10 seconds of take requires permission...so???????????

:hmm: Maybe it would be better to get ALL permission before even POSTING the stuff you MAY perhaps use in the mod, just to avoid some mess ... :seehearspeak:

Yeah, criticism is good, it makes things get improved. :)

I've always noticed how vehicle textures in GR are kind of lacking compared to most other textures because vehicles are much larger than character models but they (the vehicles) use the same size/resolution textures as the characters and then they only use smaller areas of the texture itself. If I were making vehicles for a mod and had the talent to actually make them look good i'd definitely try some higher res stuff. If it ends up being too much for your comp to handle then scrap it but it's worth a try in my opinion.

I really do not know anything about the music credits, cannot help u in this, im sorry.

Im with sleeper about vehicles textures quality, but if the model is an high poly count, the vehicle would become really "heavy" for the TCGR engine.

Anyway, I'm looking forward for this one!

PS Mig, I was PMing (new verb, nice, uh?!) with callmehobbes about a .chr, and he told me that maybe you will interested. Is a model made for me ages ago by snowfella, jack stone model with kneepad and head radio attachment. Are u interested in it?

sounds cool, let's take a look. Thanks 'bees! I would like to have higher res for GR vehicles as well, oddly enough, maps like December can really wreak havoc on the vehicle textures under some of light conditions...more detail in the testures would cool, but there are not many sources for high res pics beyond PrimePortal and those depend on who is doing the walk around...higher detail in the model itself means even more polys for something like the TOR. For my part a nice high res BTR80 with a Kluvier turret would be awesome! hehe. SA17 Grizzly? Just dreaming...

the BTR80 is in blackarion OPS Vehicle mod, i think, but I'm not sure.

About the SA17, dunnow...

For the .chr, PM me your E-Mail, I'll sent you immediatly the materials. Anyway, you need the permission from snowfella.

Uh, and there is a mod, tiger mod i think is the name, in which there is a model of the rifleman without helmet with balaclava (very nice!) and another with the chest of the standard rifleman, head without helmet with balaclava and glasses, and the legs of the demolition guy, with the big pouche on the left leg. Maybe you're interested also in that! here to help u

Maybe I can get authorization for my Max copy and learn enough to do a few vehs some day...hard to even find the time though if you're scripting missions and taking care of real life...Guess I better pass on Jack!

You may wish to tweak the fog and clipping settings on some maps so that they don't wash out your vehicle textures as much. I know some of the clipping problems cannot be fixed but you may be able to get some better results with just the fog settings.

you can always try to ask someone to help you. I cannot use 3ds, but if Blackarion is free, he already has the BTR model and so for him the job won't be that hard...MAYBE...

Kornet AT and 30mm...uhm, it should be scripted to "run" as normal tanks, with a cannon for PRJ files (the AT) and the 30mm would use a .gun file (the main weapon).

Why don't u try askin him?

Anyway, don't get crazy for such details, expecially if u are passing some troubles in real life! Script your missions and if u'll find the BTR ok, if not, well, u can be sure we will enjoy the mod without it!

No, I don't. :) yet, you have one version that fires at you with gun, one that fires at you with the Kornet! Yes, I could find a map to put 'im fighting allied armor on....watch out for a possible mission on Lancer's retexture of the Battlefield map in P2 anyway. That vehicle is not necessary, and yes we have Blakarion's BTRs and Cobaka's BTR90 versions, all nice indeed. I just think that Kluvier set up is pretty darn cool...and wish I could just go to work and crank one out w/o that learning curve taking up so much time. I even told Cobaka n Phlook' I was considering doing a GAZ Vodnik as a learning tool...

but I never got around to doing much yet, and my Max trial time has expired..I find the interface of Max confusing for me. I've done a render scene in Cinema4D and at least gone through the the tutorial of Maya 6 plus created a glove and worked on a bike helmet. Maybe having used those interfaces is making it worse for me in Max rather than better. It's been a long while too and things are coming back slowly.

I have been unable to get in touch with Blakarion, he had some things that were never released but mentioned in some of his posts here.. like a T-90, ..duck n roll Theo! I just hope Blakarion is ok, seemed he was in touch with a few of us late winter '05 and just poof! disappeared.

W/O Blakarion and Chems doing vehs we're pretty much down to Cobaka and he has a full plate...guys like Phlook' are learning it, but he has plenty on his plate too...

OMG...

Unfortunately for your idea, MacGyver would never use a gun. He did use a pistol once as a wrench to release pressure from a valve and saved hundreds of lives. ;)

so he joined SG-1 and shot everything in sight? Ever see the SG-1 Episode where Carter yelled at O'Neill telling him he had to know a way out cause he used to be MacGyver? Too funny. Maybe that was a blooper though, it all runs together.

so maybe this new guy, El Davido, will learn to how model vehicles and do a couple he puts up in the free downloads section for modders to use....he seems to know Chems who could probably help him with advice and such.... :ph34r:

well here is an excellent reason why P2 is no longer just mig's mod. I'm proud to present you with screenshots taken minutes ago on Phlookian's Blue Ivan map(what better showcase?). This is your primary target - the baddest low to medium altitude air defence vehicle in the wide world - the Russian TOR M-1. Phlookian has given us both a road ready and a deployed version of the vehicle. The radar scans while deployed. As you can see below he also has provided damage animations for both versions. A note to you modders out there- he has created 4 areas on the vehicle where you can place your own decals and markings by altering alpha channels, don't ask me. I'm sure Phlookian would like to join me in giving Cobaka and Snowfella a big thanks for their advice and assistance in helping Phlookian get this vehicle in game with the things we wanted it to do..and thanks to SOPMOD for his picture search and the pics he has sent me..

Oh yea, this is pretty much Phlookian's first vehicle...
