the.ronin
indeed. bud guys. baddies. skinnies. not to be mistaken with the latin american dance movement. "check map for tangos" should not be interpreted as an advance to shake one's booty.
Sgt.Crocodile
indeed. bud guys. baddies. skinnies Isn't skinny a term for somali militia men? From BHD? Charlie/Gook is for vietcongs, right? How about iraqis?
xG5kdo
Tango/Tangoes: 1. Bad guys that try to kill you in Ghost Recon. 2. Bad guys that try to kill you in real life (also known as RSM: Really Scary Men). 3. Other motorists on the street/avenue/throughway/highway. 4. Jaywalkers. 5. City busses. 6. Ex girlfriends. See the pattern here? Out.
budgie
Tango is a dance that Sean Connery can do and Arnold Schwatsiname can't.
XRW_Nemo
Tango:(according to Webster)....a dance of Spanish-American origin. But as far as relating to GR, tango = target ....although I like the ex-girlfriend idea. EDIT: maybe someone can make that into a mod, hehe. Zantar45
Skinnes are somali miltia men, but they used to be called sammies. Tango= as mentioned means a dance of spainish-american, and tang means a distinct flavor, so tango could have derived from something that stands out ie;a hostile with bad intentions amongst a group of un armed civilians. or tango could have been used to describe as a call sign for terrorist, like the vietcong were dubbed '' vector charlie'' as call signs on the radios, hence the short name for charlie. Now for a while special forces guys used to call hostiles jap for bad guy ( dont know why ) but im sure it change for obvious reasons. Now tango could have been taken from the expression '' it takes two to tango'' as in the meaning that tango is what they are looking for to get the dance party started. We could all just leave it at that tango is bad and tango needs killing. I know I just did alot of rambleing but thats what you get from me. (not a everyday thing might I add) whew Im sure a more compentent GR.net member will sum it up better then I could without rambling on with a bunch of nonsense. later lol Edited March 5, 2003 by Zantar45

Zantar45
Your thinking of TANG, the orange flavored powder . And there is also TURANGOS, a tortilla esqe triangle chip, that can scoop any type of bean dip known to mankind. Might not be availble where you are, but here in the UK, it's quite a popular soft drink. (Soda).
mik
Yep, enemies; They don't say the actual words 'target' or 'terrorist' or whatever, they use 'tango' so it's globally understood - won't get confused with anyother word; taken from phoenetic alphabet (alpha, bravo, charlie...) Quick quiz: Who knows the entire phoenetic abc off the top o' their head (I personally always forget those few)
