I never made the jump to Falcon 4.0 way back then, but I'm looking forward to June 28th. I'm picking up my copy of Falcon 4.0: Allied Force as soon as it arrives. Unfortunatly I was probably WAY to young to fly Falcon 3.0. Hell, I was to young to fly Falcon 4 when I first bought it. 18 now, been flying F4 for about 3-4 years. GREAT sim. To answer your questions, I use the Saitek X45 HOTAS flight stick and it comes with the rudders on the throttle, so no pedals for me. Don't use TrackIR, but it looks interesting enough to try out sometime. I am a member of FreeBirds Virtual Fighter Squadron. They are a VERY great bunch of guys, very into the realisim of the sim. Also probably has one of THE best training programs out there. We do Basic Flight Training, Combat Weapons Training, Advanced Strike Training, Ariel Combat Readiness Training, and lastly Sustained Combat Readiness Operations. If F4:AF is as good as it's sounding, we will most likely move from Falcon 4 to Falcon 4: Allied Force, so since your getting it, I would recommend checking the FreeBirds out, maybe join up if your interested and not already in a squad. Have enthusiastically followed all the fan-based addons (Superpaks 1-4, FF and BMS) and am excited that the best fighter sim of them all is about to have another incarnation. I'm just happy that Falcon is getting another chance.... that's all that matters... even if AF sux, at least it leaves possibility to be sold to a better company to make even better.
