KillingJoke 0
Any modders or experts out there that can help me out? I am trying to import a weapon sound from one Mod and put it in another weapon because I like the sound of it so much. I would like to learn if it is possbile to adjust the volume of certain sounds too. Looks like we will be waiting for a long time for GR3 so now is the time to fine tune my GR1. Thanks for the help! harntrox 0
acquire demo version of SoundForge by Sony Pictures Digital (or older versions formerly from Sonic Foundry). download SoundForge 8 demo SoundForge has the tools to do it all. pretty simple to use. alternatively, you can use the crappy windows sound recorder. i think it has some simple tools to trim sounds. dont remember about volume though ... theres lotsa other programs out there like Cooledit,Cubase,Wavelab, etc but those are more general purpose whereas SoundForge is straight to the point - which is prolly why it is used to build the .wav files used in most video games out today. importing from gr mods: locate the .gun file. look up the .wav file(s) it is referencing (under the Rate of Fire xml tags). simply copy them to your new mod, choosing to either a.) rename them if your adding weaps or b.) keep existing names if your overriding the sound files only. importing from other games and formats: if you dont have the existing sound as a .wav file, you can record it as such using windows sound rec or soundforge. just turn your record line to be Wav input instead of the usual mic/line in. your new sound will be recorded as a .wav filename you specify when you save it. you will have to trim the edges up if you record manually, however, the sample itself will be entirely digital and without interference. for sound fx: get the .wav file to 22khz/16-bit mono for music: 8-44hkz/16-bit stereo will stream off the disk just fine
