QB-Paladin
Well, now we know Ubi isn't going to let all the money they put into the PC version content go to waste! Haha...just package it into an X-Box expansion. That's my theory at least...
SteelHack
Good theory. Strange they dont have the resources to finish a GR2 PC...yet are working round the clock on more and more GR2 XBOX items. HACK aka BEAST
NYR_32
It doesn't take nearly as many "resources" to do an expansion (this Multimission) as it does for a full game (GR2PC and GR3).
Pave Low
There are completely different teams working on PC and Xbox. The xbox team have their game out and so can concentrate on producing content for it (a much "easier" process) The delay in GR2-pc means that even if they were to finish it, it would now be in direct competition with GR3-pc both fighting for the same market, so they cancelled GR2-pc in favour of it’s stronger & newer sibling. CR6
The delay in GR2-pc means that even if they were to finish it, it would now be in direct competition with GR3-pc both fighting for the same market, so they cancelled GR2-pc in favour of it’s stronger & newer sibling. ← If Ubi cancelled GR2 PC for the above reason, I can see the logic in that line of thinking. However, here's a point for discussion: Don't you think many GR fans will buy BOTH GR2 and GR3, even if they are released 6 months apart? There's no doubt Xbox fans will grab the GR2 expansion pack even though they got GR2 half a year ago. Also, there are many PC gamers that won't be able to run GR3 on their lower-end systems, so there still will be a decent-sized market for GR2 PC. Cobblers
@ CR6 - 100% right m8. In the good old days of GR1, had they been bringing out an expansions pack every month, you would have seen me buying it.
Pave Low
It doesn't take nearly as many "resources" to do an expansion ~ as it does for a full game (GR2PC and GR3). With the launch of Ghost Recon 3 planned for Winter 2005, significant human resources were needed to ensure the quality of the future instalment of the series, thus potentially jeopardizing the quality of either Ghost Recon 2 PC or Ghost Recon 3. Taking into account their close release dates, and the fact that we felt the third opus would be a much more satisfying and evolved gaming experience, we were forced to conclude that it was in the interest of gamers for us to cancel the PC version of Ghost Recon
Snake@War
I am itching for GR3 PC. If it's as good as they imply it is, it will certainly be worth paying 60 bucks for. I just hope it is...

Let's not get the wool pulled over our eyes with this statement. The best interest of gamers their talking about are the console gamers not US. PC gamers would buy a GR2 now and wait another year or more for their version of GR3. #@$%#$
fr1j0l3
Yeah, they pooled resources (same team then) to get the x-box version out the door. (put gr2 on hold, put those resources on the xbox) The fact they are having HR issues tells me that they are working from the same pool of devs. (both console and pc) ~shrug~
en4rcment
I'm feeling pretty certain that GR2 PC was cancelled to work on a next generation version of GR3. The bad news...I don't believe we'll see a GR3 PC The good news...GR3 Next-Gen console has the potential to look and play as good as we have been wanting from the title...
