Snake@War
Has anyone here heard of mass suggestion? I think that's what GR2 PC was.
NUTZ_J98
AFIK, there was never an "official" release date for the PC version of GR2 ← That's right, it never appeared on the Ubisoft Release Date spreadsheet, not once AFAIR. ← Huh I dont know where I got it then because I had Splinter Cell, and Ghost Recon2 on both consoles and pc release dates saved from thier site. Dont matter though, I just feel sorry for the GR guys because I have already got a sequal to my Rainbow Six series and will have another one maybe before they get GR3. I dont play GR because I was waiting for GR2 now I dont know if I will be able to get into it because there are so many that are competing for its top spot in the genre that someone will get close and prolley sooner than UBI. I am just scared that UBI is diggin a hole for itself if they dont watch it.

kingotnw
I don't understand why people are thinking that GR Xbox was sucessful only because of the PC base. GRPC sold a few thousand copies... GRXbox sold WAY WAY WAY more. What choice is there?!? Ubi is a busniess. Making video games is a busniess. This is just the way it goes. Lets just hope that the PC version is good, becaue honestly... I am already considering ignoring the PC version and just concentrating on the Xbox2 version, since I love the GR2 Xbox game anyways. ← I went and did some research for you kingotnw and for your informatino Ghost Recon on PC sold no less than 2 million copies and counting. [Edited] ← Wow! talk about over inflated numbers, not even close there. No way, no how. lol Its amusing that someone would think that though. I would love to see a link to this information. I would love to see a link to this information. ← I'd like to see where both of you get your info and provide links as references. Here's an example of what I mean: I have some dated info, but it's better to have cold hard numbers with references than debate over figures that people here can't see where you found them. GR PC sold more than a few thousand copies. It sold 760,000 units within the first 9 months of its release: http://forums.3dretreat.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3985 Console sales: GR1 Xbox sold 1.0 million copies in its first 7 weeks of release. The combined sales of the Xbox and PS2 versions of GR2 reached 1.4 million copies by the end of 2004 (within 7 weeks of their release). http://forums.3dretreat.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5704 The most recent Ubi press release states that GR has sold 8 million copies on all platforms: http://www.ghostrecon.com/us/newspost.php?id=10623 Anyone who can provide hard numbers on how the 8 million breaks down by each platform would be much appreciated ... Parabellum
Why am I not surprised that GR2 for the PC was cancelled? GR3? No thanks, Ubi. No thanks RSE. I've lost faith in you. Again.

budgie
Well I was slow picking up on this one. Can't say I was looking forward to it much though and thought I'd be unlikely to buy it. They seemed to have strayed too far from the formula IMO. I was (and still am) much more interested in upcoming titles like Oblivion and GTA San Andreas which may suit my job and lifestyle better as I can stop playing whenever and go back to it after a few weeks off if necessary. Let's hope that GR3 offers the generational leap in tactical shooters that GR2 should have been. After all that's what GR1 did and I expect no less from a sequel. When it happens I'll be back on board.

But i'm like many of you with high expectation with the release of GR3!!!
