Dilligas 0
I want to get a new laptop to take with me when I go out to sea. (If you didn't know I'm in the Navy.) I think the main thing I'll be using it for will be watching movies, using Photoshop, Flash, and maybe a little 3dsm. I'm not sure how much games I would be playing on it. My old laptop usually had issues trying to play games. I don't know how the newer laptops are with games. So what would you all recommend? I want to spend around a $1000.00, not more than $1500.00. Obviously I'd like to get as good as I can for as cheap as I can. I prefer AMD processors, or a pentium. No celeron! I don't know anything about any other processors. Also, from what I can see most of the newer laptops come with 512 of ram. Can you add another chip to bring it up to 1 gig? Anyway, thank for the help.
firefly2442 0
I wouldn't get an Apple laptop. I've seen enough of those break and repair enough of them to not particularly like them. That being said, I guess I would just go around to the various vendors and see what $1,000 will get you. I'm sure Dell, Toshiba, Sony, and others have some pretty nice laptops. Is battery life going to be an issue on the ship or will it always be plugged in? GL.

Cpl Ledanek 247
strimline your laptop dell inspiron notebook are some of the topics that I went thru selecting a laptop. there is a smaller version of the 9200 that we end up getting for my bro, 15" screen. Maybe now the price has dropped since it has been over a month since we ordered it. Good luck, stay safe on the boat.
