WhiteKnight77 1
I always wanted cops to write tickets to the idiots that do that, even after one ran into my truck (I wasn't going to let him in as I waited in line like one should). If you dirve a certain route more than twice, you should know that the lane ends or is set up a certain way. Seattle has 2 cops to write tickets for a ramp at the interstates exchange. Read about it at: Hey, no cutting in line!.
Gav80 0
Just one question.... If you're not supposed to use the right-hand lane, why is it there?
WhiteKnight77 1
You can use the right hand lane, but it is for straight through traffic. A solid white line here in the states means do not cross.
Gav80 0
OIC. I thought both lanes went onto the interstate, but that two lanes narrowed to one before it got there. I guess that makes more sense...
Pave Low 16
If you click on the little map in the news article it makes it clearer whats happening: The right lane is for cars continuing on to Beacon Hill But instead of joining the left lane early and queueing, some selfish idiots stay in the right to jump the queue and then try to "barge in" at the last minute. It's nice to see selfish idiots like that get whats coming to them It's like when there are roadworks ahead and one lane is closed (coned off) it is always signposted miles back and most normal people start moving into the slow lane, but there is always some idiot who goes belting down the now empty fast lane all the way down to the orange cones and then expects people to let them in (and there is usually one or two soft fools who do let em in ) Jasper Carrott did a great comedy sketch where he deliberately doesn't let a cutter in and gleefully mutters under his breath that he "hopes the car sits there [trying to get in] until it rusts"
Old_Geezer 0
Pretty hard to argue with that kind of ticket. One of the first things I learned in Driver's Ed (Canada): White line= Law, Yellow line= Warning. Same goes for signs. Cross a solid white line and you don't have a leg to stand on in court. RooK 0
None of those roads in KY as far as I know, so haven't had to deal with them. Only two things make me mad: One is vehicles getting on the interstate at 45mph and you're stuck behind them. Someone needs to inform them that the onramp is for accelerating. The other is vehicles (almost always a buckeye) riding the middle or left lane when the right one is clear... Edit: I'll add a third- truck drivers drag racing each other up hills in opposing lanes. cobaka 0
Edit: I'll add a third- truck drivers drag racing each other up hills in opposing lanes. ← And always 10-20 mph slower than the speed limit
Gav80 0
Lol... I was stuck following a car this morning who was going about 35mph in a 60 limit... Not amused... As soon as I had a clear bit of straight road, I was flooring it past him... Lmao Some people need to realise that driving 30mph slower than everybody else is just as dangerous as driving 30mph faster than everybody else...
NYR_32 6
Funny enough I heard a story about a merge like that here in NYC today in one of my classes. Make sure you yield to the guy holding up a pistol, even if he is crossing the solid line..... Whats the funny part? My professor is a retired NYC police officer (who used to run the police academy), he looks to his right and sees the guy trying to get in and the dude holds up a pistol. I think the guy got more than just a traffic ticket!
