I'm an avid fan of Tom Clancy-franchised games in general, and Ghost Recon in particular, but I'm begging everyone who is slamming RSE, Ubi, Tom Clancy himself even for the lack of a Ghost Recon 2 for PC to please desist at this point. Every possible reason that there isn't a GR2 on PC has been covered ad nauseum at this point, and really we're all just chasing our tails now. I just want to get across a few things I've thought of up to now.

Point 1: There will be a Ghost sequel for the PC at some point. Eventually. Nothing we can do can accelerate the process. The devs peruse these boards. We all know they do. They know the frustration level. They can't help not to, what with the endless, cyclic posts covering it. Now it's like having a guy standing next to your desk yelling at you constantly. Two or three minutes would have been enough to get the point across, yet this clown insists on beating you down for days on end. Point taken and noted. Let's move on.

Point 2: I gave up laying on the floor kicking and screaming for what I want long ago, decades even. I think many people need to take the same lesson to heart.

Point 3: Unfortunately I believe there is now a certain level of expectation for the game's sequel that may never be satisfied. Just because there will be a sequel doesn't mean it will meet the stringent requirements some folks here have set for it, and they will therefore be mightily disappointed, which means we are all in the queue for a long litany of "why GR2 PC sucks" comments. Mark my words. Some people cannot be satisfied, save for they were in on the development process, which is what I truly believe some think they're entitled to. Yes, we helped get the Ghost Recon franchise launched, but we are a part of the puzzle, not the be-all-end-all of the game's, or any forthcoming sequels, development. Frustrating, yes. But keep in mind what I said about the devs. They know we're here and what we're looking for. Just be patient and you might be pleasantly surprised.

Point 4: If the game is not what you'd hoped it would be, if it's not perfect, keep in mind... IT'S A GAME! I have a lot of things to waste my energy on, and games are not the highest on my list of priorities.

 off

That is all. Carry on.

We might has well delete the PC section then WP33, since nothing has been said then we wont have nothing to talk about.

As long has GRPC hasnt been released there will be somebody complaining they want info, its gunna happen.

Nobody is the same, so yes people have different expectations for things. I havent set my expectations for GRPC high nor have i stressed myself looking for tidbits of news and reading between the lines of what people say about GR2PC.

I am very glad that RSE devs come here and read everything its a great thing to see. Im even more glad because this isnt even the offical GR website. So that must mean they are wanting to give us what we want to post here and not over there.

Yes im sure somebody will post a why GR2pc sucks and why its soo different. The thing is though that he may have wanted it to better then HL2, F2F, and all the new games. But like i said people are different.

how hard is it to say we are working on GR2 for the pc and it will be better then the xbox version suited for the PC crowd...

I been saying GR2 for PC will suck since last year almost mainly because it was made for the xbox, third person, and i knew it was going to be a lot more fast passed

now that it may not be a port (thank god some one realised we didnt want a port)

it still has a chance to be the game that most of us wanted. The gameplay features are there all they have to do is tweak some stuff and enchance the graphics and make it less linear.

Im waiting for a demo, if its good ill buy it if its not i wont

UBI ***** RSE and gamers alike there is no denying it.

Im bout ready to just say to hell with ubi games based on just their crappy customer support.

To clarify the point(s) I was trying to make, weren't a couple posts as to why there isn't any info yet sufficient? Why are there so many threads up and running beating up the same topics over and over, almost every day? You ever watch the Simpsons early episodes, where the family would be driving somewhere and they'd keep asking Homer, "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" Same thing. We aren't there yet. Keep asking; you're going to keep getting the same answer.

Now, to cover a couple interesting and valid issues raised by some of the responding posts- To GRT:

I'm not saying the subject never should have been broached. I'm asking when is enough enough? How many times can we all bray about how it isn't out yet, when is it coming out, how come we haven't heard anything about when it's coming out, why don't the devs come to my house and install the beta so I'm satisfied that it's coming out. I exaggerate a little, but at times it seems as if some are being just like this. To sum that up, I think the question once asked is pretty much a self-fulfilling issue, and no amount of re-asking is going to do much of anything.

Pro, regarding what the devs have and haven't said:

Two possibilities exist. One: The devs don't give a flying fish about what you (or I) may want, which likely would've resulted in some kind of response, in short version, as "RSE and Ubi have no plans to pursue a sequel to Ghost Recon on the PC at this time." Two: NDA. Pure and simple. You won't know what's what because, as much as they might want to, they can't tell you. Period. Over. Stop the arguments. The threat of unemployment and lawyer types hanging around you is a huge influence, and one you cannot break, no matter how hang-dog you look and how loudly you whine. You will not know more than that particular NDA will allow you to know.

But this has all been covered, and I'm becoming guilty of what I was trying to solicit a cessation.

I just think that at this point, almost every conceivable avenue has been explored on this issue and we are all just spinning our wheels, having gotten nowhere, yet the same topics keep popping up. Personally I'm just amazed at the amount of energy expended on this subject.

if ppl want to whine over stuff let em... they have good reasons to.

"how hard is it to say we are working on GR2 for the pc and it will be better then the xbox version suited for the PC crowd... "

just a quick note.

this was said, its was said alot, but we didnt listen.

in fact i had this said to me when i was in San Fran, for the XBOX preview.

some felt the game was good the way it was and could go strait to PC.

it was however stated very clearly ( or i was listening very carfully ) that Red Storm refused to release a bad game and that they had something in mind just for the PC crowd.

those where the words ( not a direct quote, long conversation from a long time ago. )

i agree with the fellow who made the post. we may be a little bitter that we arent getting the info we want. but its more important to me to get the game i want, and let the devs do there thing.

Nice sig WP33. I 'was' an avid cyclist, but sadly I had to leave it in the UK. PC, games and clothes took priority.

I met Lance Armstrong in the UK during the 'Kellog's Tour' and the 'Leeds One day Classic'. I ran the hospitality tent at the start of each race. The Motorolla Team were around all week, but Armstrong didn't turn up until the weekend, for the Leeds'. I got access all areas, even sharing the same hotels. I took mountains of close ups of the riders all week, and got at least one of Armstrong.

It was tiring but it was great fun.

Oh! yeah! GR2 PC?........

Couldn't agree more.

chill out, the game will get released, and then you can see if its worth getting. If the game was drasticlly improved the nay sayers can eat thier words about never buying a ubi product(over and over and over again) and just enjoy the game(well until GR3 comes out :wall: ).

<_< Hmmm...

First let me say, you have expressed yourself very well WP33. As you maturely stated, it is very tiring to log onto these forums and see that another person has created a topic asking if GR2 for the PC will ever be produced. It gets repetetive and pointless...

However, what are all the forum members to do? We all come here because we are GR fans. Our choices are either to post something about GR2 or just ignore the whole subforum until UBI releases an official statement. As we've seen, that could be awhile.

While it is annoying, I think it is only natural that members will use this forum to beg for information and vent their frustrations on the lack of info. All of us know that we will have absolutely zero influence on when UBI will/will not release game info. UBI's stance on releasing ZERO info has not gone unnoticed by the throngs of PC fans that visit these boards every day.

While I also tire of the same type of posts...I guess I'd rather read member speculation than visit every day and see no new posts...

...just my 2 cents... ;)

"However, what are all the forum members to do? "

i have an idea, and it may be stupid but it may be fun. all intended in a light hearted fashion though.

have a thread blatenly called Crazy Conspiracy thread.

we all take turns coming up with fun, some what crazy idea's ( totall fictional ) as to what GR2 for PC will be about and what is causing "delays" why there is no info ect..

it might just be fun to see what ideas and stories people come up with. nothing mean or insulting but just goofy fun.

i would be game.

almost like when we played with blocks the day before christmas as a kid, just dreaming and pretenting the blocks where the fun stuff we where going to get the next day.

sigh, i miss my wood chips.

Not sure if developers would want us to stop complaining.

That would just mean we had moved on and didn't care anymore.

which is what some of us will likely do as the silence from from UBI and RSE is deafening.

Thats what I've been trying to do here.

Face it.  This section is dead.  I'm trying to wake people up and keep interest going.  And not simply vent frustration.  But to be sorta like the paddles from a defibrillator.  :P

bzzzzz bzzzzzzzzzzzzz  :bounce:

Maybe we should hire Richard Marcinko the former commander of seal team six and RED CELL.

You guys remember red cell? It was Marcinko's pet project? He wanted it to be something similar to seal team six to be used for counter terrorism. But instead it got used to test U.S. naval base security by having the team pretend to be terrorists and then attacking several base's security. They did everything from planting fake bombs on base to actually kidnapping base personnel and torturing them for information (which what got red cell in trouble and disbanded).

Perhaps Marcinko's team could grab ubi or rse personnel and throw em in a helicopter and take em to a safe house where they could umm.........debrief ubi staff.

muhoohahaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :FIREdevil:
