Who through the grenade?

Recommended Posts

OK, is this a flaw in GR? Has anyone noticed that how ever quiet you are, and no matter how well hidden you are...if you throw a grenade...on impact and explosions enemies know exactly where you are? Now I can understand launchers and guns giving you away, but throwing a grenade with no sound and having enemies somehow trace it back to your location seems a bit odd to me. Of course now I use it to advantage by throwing, relocating, and killing the investigators but still it just doesnt seem right.

Imagine that the AI would just wait for you the only thing you would do is throwing frags and sniping.

Evrebody would finish the 3 campaigns in 5 hours.

Yeah, sure they are going to scatter about to investigate, but there are 360 degrees of possibility of where the nade came from, but to all go to the exact position of where you are is seems far fetched...either that or the enemy has ESP.

You can judge from where a frag camed the direction i mean not the range.

But as with the bug in wich the enemy AI know where you were when detonating a claymore it can be fixed but a 1.5 patch is highly unlikley.

The only way I could see you being able to judge where a nade came from is if A)You actually see it in the air or B) you see it hit the ground and bounce. If you dont see either of those there is no way you could tell where it came from.

If you do see either of these things then you will be in no condition to do anything about it anyway, you will be too busy scattering yourself over a wide area.... lol ;):P

For the most part I never know where a nade is coming from myself. And I've never noticed that the enemy AI does either, unless it's totally obvious from which direction it came from. And surely the enemy AI in GR just isn't that intelligent, is it?

The thing that is even more weird is that even people that were no where around the area the nade blew up will be coming to my exact spot.

"But your teammate usually shouts "Grenade!" when they throw one at you doesn't he/she? "

Very good point Ghost Recon is all about balance every reaction has a equal counter-reaction

I understand in the russian campaign because they have radios and stuff or maybe they shout and we can`t hear them.

Yes they do.

Heres something funny-

When I play online and I throw a grenade, sometimes my character will shout ''Grenade!"" when throwing one!

and of course when your playing in a room thats in another country, the oppents yell grenade in their own langauge ( italian, spanish, french, etc.)

look it's just a cheap way to make the enemy AI seem wiser. It's basically cheating. You can hind a hundred meters away in the bushes and snipe someone with a silenced weapon and the bad guys never once fail to home in on your exact position. General direction I might accept but not exact position.

If - as I have sometimes heard - the enemy do seem confused and don't know where the trouble's coming from (heck sometimes I don't even with the indicator), then it is purely by accident, not an intentional reaction that the developers intended to preserve realism. I can't believe that these eagle-eyed enemies ever fail to spot us. It's just a bug, but one that works in my favor.

As for the friendlies shouting grenade - they still don't tell me in time, whereas the enemies seem to know that I'm throwing one and get out of the way as soon as it leaves my hand.

If you throw a frag over a rock they will shoot at the rock aiming at you (stupid).

I would like to see them coming from 2 sides of the rock trying to flank you, or throwing frags back (over the rock).

We'll need some better PC's to handle all that behaviour.

I agree to all your points...
