First, I seem to be missing a file named 'HMMWV' for the add-on FK_HMMWV to work. Second, neither PC we are using has any sounds for the game. We are both also getting a 'Memory at 'such and such location' could not be read error. CrowmanUK Posted March 21, 2005 Share Posted March 21, 2005 How ya doing matey, the hmmwv problem has definitely been encountered before but not by me, so there is a fix for it, the file I've got in my addons folder is FK_HMMWV.pbo and is 47,625kb in size if you've downloaded the flashpoint version you may need to Unpbo it to a folder, then Makepbo on the folder and in the options uncheck the resistance box. The pbo tools are over at vbsresources, make sure you've got the latest core file too, 1.081 is at the site. The sound problem I've not heard of and the crashing may need a reinstall, although the core file might sort that out, sorry I cant be of more help mate but post over at vbsresources too, if someone here cant help then somebody there will have encountered it. As CrowmanUK said that isn't an official VBS addon, but a "beta" OFP port/conversion instead (most people dont have it, so it's not essential and there is talk of an official version at some point) and again as CrowmanUK mentioned I recommend getting the Core Update immediately you install the game as it cures a number of problems. Did you get the memory error when you installed just the core island or only after all the other addons and have you tried reinstalling and trying them one at a time ? do you have other mods like the sky pack, SES sound pack or kegetys DXDLL ? if so try it without them. Second, neither PC we are using has any sounds for the game. Do you mean no voices/radio ? or no sounds whatsoever (gunshots/vehicles Etc) ? VBS doesn't ship with the voices (as military didn't want them) you have to copy the voice files over from OFP. Look forward to getting some games in with y'all.
