I re-read Bravo Two Zero and The one that got away, and decided that the original concept of the mission would make a very fun mission for GR. But the concept would need a few special things. The first being a large map. 1km x 1km. The next some nice CHRs so Ive made some 7000 poly CHRs which run lovly in game. This is in its early developments but its coming along nicely since Deleyt exported the alpha version of the map for me. The idea is more for MP due to the large map size, a Coop based mission but also able to be played in SP. Whilst in the desert you will be tasked with hunting scuds, watching the movement of scuds on the MSR (Main Supply Route) and planting demo chargres on the pipe line that runs parelle with the MSR. Also on your trip through the desert you will meet BMP patrols, Anti Aircraft batteries, Direction Finiding posts a small desert village and farmers with their herds. Tank Berms, some may even have a T-80 in them.

The Map will come in Dusk, Dawn and night. Dawn is shown below.

The CHRs I remodeled on the orig GR characters then painted new DMPs in hi res and new webbing. There will be a choice of 8 unique squad members, both of which come in either full Desert DMP of the half and half DMP shown below.

Combat over this distance is a lot more fun, and there will be a host of new weapons, not totally new, you will have seen them in other mods but these are revised. Such as the M16 M203 the work horse of the SAS, in A1 version with Single Shot and Full Auto. The Minim should be making an appearence as will the Elise Anti Personal Mine as well as the Sig Sauger P226, the L96A1 which should be getting a camo job also.

I decided that the L96 I was going to use isnt right so Ive modeled a new one, this is my first weapon model, from scratch for GR in a long time.

Anyone got a Hi Res Texture or do I have to paint my own? :unsure:

:blink: amazing! all of it. I've been waiting for a big new mod for a while. This one looks perfect. haven't been this stoked for a GR mod in a while.

great characters. map should be just what GR has been waiting for. now there's a real reason to use big rifles.

Cobra just made a AWM texture (you can find a scaled down version of it in the "show me your weaps" thread). I'm sure he'd lend it to such a great cause.

hehehe, this looks so good ! :thumbsup: But do you make a Animation too ? A little Death Animation is necessary, ( simple, not to complicate) if i shoot this bad ass Guy, he should fall down...

WOW chems this looks awsome, Love the idea of a huge desert map like this, nice to see someone doing a map bigger than 400x400. Looking forward to more updates as things progress. Also am i correct in stating we may have our first animal in GR?

@Sixpence, they have shemags, they are around there necks in the screen. Others may have theirs up.

The will be no command map. Hence use for coop and good communication over TS. Real soliders dont have a command map.

The goat will be tagged the same as the bug from SST.

Custom animation would only work with a new bone stucture and you cant have a new bone structure.

I hand painted the L96, I think you will agree it looks very nice.

This looks awesome ! But how you wanna make the Command Map ?

A Suggestion : I read the Book and saw the Movie and in both they wear Shemags...IMO looks better !

Some will wear schemags, just the only character models at the moment have the schemags used as scalfs round their neck. I'm compiling a list of the combinations of BDU they will wear.

Oh yeah and is the movie any good? :)
