Swissy 0
OK... I searched the forums for this- I would like to take a couple of weapons i like, as primary and secondary, and make my own kit (would be a sniper kit with VVS SP6 and HK MP5, both silenced) I found this thread Combining Weapons but the reply did not help me... it talked about finding and moving/copying files, but doesn't say which ones. And, to top it off, I searched thru my GR MODS directory and I cannot find any files with SP6 names!! Anyone willing to help a thick headed ###### make his first weapons kit? (would love a WA2000 silenced too! I like the more obscure guns...) Jim
GRT 0
What mod are you playing with the SP6. Ive never heard of a VVS SP6. I have heard the VSS And MP5-sd, which one? Or a MP5(a2, a3, a4) with silencer attached?
jay316 0
making kits is pretty easy go into your gr directory and click on igor, go to tools and click on kit editor then pick the gun files you want for your primary and secondary from the list and the magazine count you want for each, when you have the weapons amd ammo desired save the kit to the desired kit folder for the mod and once saved that kit should be available in game (sp) for multiplayer go to tools kit restriction editor open the .kil file in the desired mod and add your kit to the actor class you want and save the kit restriction in the desired mod. Hope that helps.

As far as the MP5 goes, I think the 10mm version (not sure of model designation) woudl be different enough. Other than that, I'm not picky! Flash

Also, how about consolidating all the soldier classes - since I have so many MODS active, I have *19* different classes of soldier... 3 or 4 support experts, snipers, soldiers and so on. Is there a way to make 1 support expert with ALL the weapons alloted, 1 sniper and so on? I'll look in IGOR and see if this is an option but if anyone has a fast fix let me know! (beside turning of some MODS!) Flash
Swissy 0
ok... got the new kit... vss SP6 and MP5-10, both silenced. Now, the only thing I canot figure out is how to get the graphic for the gun to show up on screen. Both the kit selection before the game, and in the game itself, all it shows for the gun is a blank area. Before, there were the great little graphics showing the outline of the guns used. Now there is nothing. I looked thru the kit files and did not see a location for a graphic reference or filename input. Help? Not critical, but more pleasurable witht he correct stuff! sorry for the noob questions and crap, but I am what I am Flash
Zeko 33
Example <KitFile> <VersionNumber>1.000000</VersionNumber> <KitTexture>kit-demolitions-21.rsb</KitTexture> <Firearm SlotNumber = "0"> <VersionNumber>1.000000</VersionNumber> <ItemFileName>mm1.gun</ItemFileName> <MagazineCount>2</MagazineCount> </Firearm> <Firearm SlotNumber = "1"> <VersionNumber>1.000000</VersionNumber> <ItemFileName>at4.gun</ItemFileName> <MagazineCount>4</MagazineCount> </Firearm> </KitFile> Check bold area. IIRC when making new kits in IGOR, texture part is somewhat forgoten so notepad is your friend here. So u r missing a texture and since it's custom kit u will have to make one if u have photoshop or post a request here in this topic.

I saw that, but there was nothing in it for a few other kits I looked at. All I saw was <KitTexture/> with no other tag to begin/end it. I assume that this texture has to contain BOTH weapons? And how can I view the RSB textures? I'll look for a utility but if anyone has a good one to use let me know please! I'm kinda getting into this... I see more kits int he future for me. Working with some ex-pararescue guys and a special forces dude, I am getting some good advice and ideas! Flash
Swissy 0
Ok... problem. I found the rsb photoshop plugin, but I cannot open the rsb files! It shows up on the open menu, but when I click on any rsb file, i get the error: "...could not open because the file-fiormat module cannot parse the file." I have PS 7.0, and I have the plug-in install right. Is the plugin not compatible with version 7??? Any other way to view/edit/write RSB files? If I opon a standard image (say from my dig camera) I can save as a RSB, then open THAT file... just not anything in GR... Flash EDIT: found that the newer MODS must be different as I can open SOME of them in photoshop. Luckily the weapons I am looking for I was able to open and was able to make my own kit RSB. Now have a VSS SP6 and MP5-10 SD with full working kit image. THANKS ALL!! However, I still need to find out why some I cannot open (actually MOST...) so I can make more of these kits... help?
