Pave Low
VBS1 Mod. Animations Pack 2 - Version 2.0 Updated is available over @ VBS ResourcesPic 1.jpgPic 2.jpgIt will be a "replacement" (Not a "Init-line" type) just like the first pack and installs a modfolder and batchfile. (and you should be able to move the DTA folder into the addons or a "mod addons" folder like the first pack) I recently got round to trying the first animations pack and it's GREAT! I cant wait to use this one [Edit] Version 2.0 - 17th Febuary 2005 * Replaced animations with 1.3 version of said animations. * Added Dreamy Knights pistol anims. en4rcment
I also use the first pack and it has dramatically added to the game's realism for me. Will this new pack be used with the 1st pack or is it going to be a one or the other type of thing?
Pave Low
Yes, It is definitely much more realistic, the way the characters hold their weapons now just adds so much more to the game lol, it should be made a mandatory addon with the Sound and the Voices updates as I Understand, it will completely replace the 1st one, so only need to have the later one. WP33
Cool. I liked what the first one did for the gameplay.
en4rcment
lol, it should be made a mandatory addon with the Sound and the Voices updates ← What sound and voice updates???
Suicide Commando
The voice update adds the OFP squad voices to VBS and the sounds update updates, well, VBS's sounds. -edit- Here's the voices file. http://www.users.on.net/~cholz/aim/Voice.zip Edited February 14, 2005 by Suicide Commando
en4rcment
I already copied my OFP voices PBO to the VBS1 directory... Is the sound pack VBS1 ALPHA Sound Enhancement by Grayhawk?
Suicide Commando
Don't remember to be honest en4rcment. Maybe someone else can shed some light on the subject.
Parabellum
The new sound update is indeed by Grayhawk.
2nd Ranger
Anim pack 2 = in the downloads section now. I'm not in love with it. I prefer the standing and running animations from the first one, and the weapon placement seems a bit off. The butt disappears into the upper arm when you run. The reloading animation is nice, and so is the transition from standing to prone and vice versa. I think if this pack was tweaked a bit (or the best elements of each were combined), it would be excellent. Suicide Commando
That's pretty much what people have been saying on the official forums. Think I'll just stick with the first for now.
en4rcment
That's too bad... I'm really happy with the first pack so I think I'll just stick with that for now also...
Zebb
I dont think the second one is that bad, they both have their pro's and cons so its just a personal choice thing in the end...

2nd Ranger
Beat me to it. I'm away to try them now Just tried it - I see no evidence of new animations, specifically the pistol animations he mentioned. Pave Low
Yeah the installer is named correctly but it's contents seem to be identical to the previous version
Suicide Commando
So it's still the same version. People really need to start testing before they re-release something.
