Aggressor 0
I just finished reinstalling GR/DS/IT and patched it up to 1.4. I decided to have a look at the IKE file and noticed a few things like missing rsb files. Is this normal? I did a fresh install since these missing rsb textures were present when I checked IKE before, and was the main reason why I removed everything and did a new install. ***** User's system configuration ***** CPU: AuthenticAMD 1300 MHz AMD Athlon RAM: 352 MB O/S: Microsoft Windows 2000 5.1 build 2600 Ghost Recon (RELEASE) version = 1.4.0.0(0) RSDisplayMgr::CreateGameWindow: Creating a 1024x768 window at 0,0 on monitor hp pavilion mx50 attached to S3 Graphics ProSavage + utilities RSDisplayMgr::CreateGameWindow: Game running on primary display hp pavilion mx50 attached to S3 Graphics ProSavage + utilities HAL (sw vp): S3 Graphics ProSavage + utilities R5G6B5 RSFILEDATA: FindFile could not find file ike_fx_fire_type2.tga RSFILEDATA: FindFile could not find file ike_fx_fire_type2.rsb Unable to find ike_fx_fire_type2.tga anywhere. Jack57 0
Well there's a few in there that I find a bit surprising. Basically if it's not crashing then you need not worry. Most of them are a carry over from development I believe. The last two are a bit of a concern because usually missing *.atr or *.kit files will cause a ctd. But I don't have those in my GR directory either. As I say if you're not having problems I wouldn't worry about it. Cheers, Jack Edited March 1, 2003 by Jack57
Urban_Tiger 0
Have you been playing on a host server that uses server side mods and maps before you checked the error log??? I only ask as if you are playing server side maps and mods, then locally the files that are listed as missing obviously wouldn;t be present and the many of the one's that have been logged certainly aren't standard GR files (some are, many aren't), they look by the name of them to be files made by a modder etc ! You won't get CTD under these circumstances as obviously if playing on a server using server side mods and installations GR dloads the required data to the temp file to allow you to play but it may also log it onto the IKE file if it can't find it locally, I've never checked to know for sure but it would be a reasonable assumption . Quite why it logs it as not being present if it accepts it's something server side is another question but I wouldn;t worry about that error log unless you're game starts getting problematic in some way as it really does look like file info from mods and not a fresh and unmodified version of GR lol!! Hope that may shed some light on the subject anyway !
