hotshot Posted January 25, 2005 Share Posted January 25, 2005 For the North Americans, why dont you buy with BIA along with everyone else, but have your copies shipped to somewhere outside N.America, and shipped to you from there (so BIA will deliver them). You will get all available modules (like USMC1 and ADF2), can download them, and i'm sure the N. American orders would add on to the group order substantionality, and so make it more likely a discount (or such) could be arranged. Very helpful fellow it turns out. The squad command features are the same in VBS1 as they are in OFP, as are alot of things. Some of the things that are different are very attractive...such as the software's ability to handle over 100 soldiers or vehicles without bogging the system down (better hardware support). It sounds more like the MP focus is a result not of the software itself, but of the missions being created for it...the mission-makers love MP, seems fair enough. As for lack of campaign play, I don't care. I'd love to see alot less Hollywood in shooters and alot more chess. I'm gonna plug away at ofp for a couple weeks while I think about it. Who knows, maybe this mission-making business could be fun too. Not sure what you mean...I mentioned above that CT did get back to me. I believe they may have had a server problem the weekend I originaly wrote them, because after a week had passed I sent them a follow-up chastising them for not replying to a product inquiry. The fellow wrote me back that day (a Saturday) and swore he never got my e-mail (suggesting a couple plausible causes) and asked me to re-send it to him. He then answered all my questions (same day) and even recommended I only consider VBS1 if I'm the type who plays Operation Flashpoint several hours a week, year after year. I thought he was pretty cool and will be glad to do business with him if I chose to take the VBS1 plunge. I'll see how I feel after I get through all three campaigns in OFP goty.
