Lightspeed
I have been trying to tweak Multiplayer maps for the GR Community - been done a hundred times already I know but... I wanted to incorporate Objects into the maps to offer more cover to players in the way of Vehicles positioned around the maps. But, it seems you can't add a .vcl to a MP cos it never shows up. So if a Fixed Gun does show up, maybe its just a matter of renaming the .vcl to .gun. Is this correct? And if so, bcoz I dont yet have SM3D at my disposal - would any modders here be prepared to jump kwikly into the program and save their vehicle mods for me as .gun, and upload them here, or send them to me at: rafren@netspeed.com.au. This will be for an upcoming GR/GR2 League - and I will note all contributors of mods/modded equipment on the site. Giampi
Can't understand you mate? Why don't you simply put the vehicles in your map and destroy them at startup?
Lightspeed
wot the? hmm, lemme explain better - I am trying to play Multiplayer games with respawnsfor example - teams, like 1 clan versus another. So because its not a mission, the vehicles dont show up on the maps even after I have placed them there. Maybe Im doing it wrong, but from what I can tell from other posts here and there, the vehicles will only show up in missions. And I dont want the tanks to be destroyed necessarily - they're placed for the pupose of being objects to provide cover and eye candy on the maps. If it works, then I will set about creating other obects which can be placed on multiplayer maps. lighty Edited January 20, 2005 by PoW_LigHtsPeEd

blakarion.
The vehicle Models COULD be tagged up as Stationary guns easily however there are a few problems with that, the main one is that they would not be colideable (eg u can ran throu them, and bullets will not stop on them) which kinda negates the point of them been on the map in the first place. However I may have a quick look and see what can be done
Lightspeed
but why then is a 'fixed gun' a real and tangible object - i dont think u can run through those. could a vehicle not be renamed to act like a fixed gun? the difference being that you cannot fire it. lighty
BornToKill
Ok fixed guns you can run through, this is because thats how they are created in 3DSM.Because they can be placed on any map, they could interfere with AI path links if they were collidable, and you'd get AI tangos caught on them.So hence they were made non-collidable. You can make and object in max and save it as a fixed weapon, as long as you make the "Base" group 2d colidable (i used "box" under the 2d colision tag). I made some sandbags this way, and they can be placed onto any map as a fixed weapon.Only bug i found was that they were collidable, but in single player mode if you Restart a mission they no longer were collidable, you had to go back to the lobby first and begin again. GRIM-HITMAN
I've added vehicles to multiplayer maps on many occasions. You just have to script it as a mission for them to show up. GRIM-HITMAN
