Hector_989 0
I have seen several posting related to PC players wanting to play via IP with Mac players. However, after trying all of the suggestions, my borther (Mac) and I (PC) are still having problems connecting. We are to the point were we are able to see each others servers, but when we try to connect we get the software version error. As it stand now, he deactivated Desert Seige mod. His Mac verions (from the opening screen) reads 1.2.10.0. He was able to download a patch suppposedly able bring his version to the PC equivilant of 1.4 (my version). However, when it ran, it reported that the software was either at the current version or not the current the correct version for updating. sorry for the long wind. Can anyone help. Both newbies... One other item that may help. When I try to join a game on the UBI network I also get the incorrect version error, or no notification and it crashes. May the problems is on my end? Thanks
WhiteKnight77 1
Do you have DS and IT while he doesn't? Do you have them enabled when he tries to join if he doesn't have them? Do both you hand he have any firewalls turned off?
Hector_989 0
Thanks for responding. He has (MAC) DS, but deactivated when we start multiplayer. I do not have DS or IT. I have a firewall, that I believe I had disabled. I will have to check again. I did not think to ask if he had a firewall.
BlueRose_76 0
Are you sure YOU run on 1.4 while not having DS and IT? IIRC when the pc version got no DS or IT you can patch up to 1.3 maximum. Im running GR on a MAC with DS IT and have no problems at all with online games (except with some mods) so it should be possible.
Hector_989 0
Thanks for responding. My title screen says v1.4.0.0. Can I ask what your MAC is? Did you have to upgrade to a PC equivalent 1.4?

BlueRose_76 0
I can strongly recommend to get both your hands on IT and DS, they come pretty cheap these days. To my knowledge a MAC version of IT has never been released. But the PC version (legal version ofcourse) can be converted for mac. I cant go deeper into this because someone else installed it on my mac. I can direct you to more info on mac patches and installing IT (see read me files), here: http://www.damnr6.com/macmods/grpatch.shtml Also lots of mods for mac are available here. Good luck, BlueRose_76
